Many factories have been closed since the disaster, with regular street protests.

On Tuesday night, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged people to return to work.

She said in parliament: "I would like to tell the workers to keep their head cool, keep mills and factories operative, otherwise you will end up losing your jobs."

Gawd fucking damn, the corporatist witch values slave-labor over the lives of her fellow citizens? We're kidding; her fellow citizens are the owner of the collapsed factory, "Rana Plaza owner Mohammed Sohel Rana, a local leader of the youth wing of the ruling Awami League party" & his ilk. Speaking of hanging corporatists on meat-hooks, as we already have this a.m., why hasn't she been hooked up yet?

Also too the Pope opens his pie-hole.

Speaking at his regular morning Mass at the Vatican, Pope Francis called the working conditions of those who died in Bangladesh "slave labour".

"Not paying a fair wage, not giving a job because you are only looking at balance sheets, only looking to make a profit, that goes against God," he said.

Big talk from Frankie One Lung, but when will Il DucePapa tell his flock to concentrate on stopping the murders of hundreds of living slaves/economic exploitation in general, rather than stopping accepted medical procedures & contraception?

A further factoid:

Cracks had appeared in Rana Plaza, in the Savar district, the day before the collapse but the staff were reportedly told to continue work.

This photo was run at the top of Yglesias's "Fuck you Bangladesh" article. What sort of prick sees something like that & thinks "these people got what they deserve." We sincerely hope the little Randian shit gets exactly what he deserves before the rest of his hair falls out. (Which we hope is tomorrow.)
