A Couple Of Nazis Sit Around Talking

The intellectual right contemplates an 'American Caesar'

Jan. 6 was a badly planned rehearsal for the real deal

The indisputable fact is that a leading and long-standing conservative institute in the United States hosts a podcast by someone who served as a senior official in the presidential administration of a man who may run again for the nation's highest office in a few years. And on an episode of that podcast, this former official and his invited guest genially rehearsed arguments about why a future president would be justified in turning himself into a tyrant, and how he could set about accomplishing this task.

Which means that on the starboard side of American politics, the Overton window has now shifted far beyond the boundaries of democratic self-government to a place broadly coterminous with fascism.

Do read it all (Would've at least linked even w/o the title & tune match.) it's paranoia leading to an amusingly pathetic sci-fi fantasy. Or is it?
The trick, for Yarvin [A/K/A/ "Mencius Moldbug" — Editor], is for the would-be American Caesar to exercise emergency powers from day one. How? Caesar should run for president promising to do precisely this, and then announce the national emergency in his inaugural address, encouraging every state government to do the same. Taking advantages of "ambiguities" in the Constitution, he will immediately act to federalize the national guard around the country and welcome backup from sympathetic members of the police (who will wear armbands to signal their support for Caesar).

When federal agencies refuse to go along, Yarvin suggests, Caesar (whom he now begins referring to as "Trump") will use a "Trump app" to communicate directly with his 80 million supporters on their smart phones, using notifications to tell them that "this agency isn't following my instructions," which will prompt them to rally at the proper building, with the crowd "steered around by a joystick by Trump himself," forming a "human barricade around every federal building, supporting Trump's lawful authority." Where maybe 20,000 people stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, millions responding to the Trump app would be much more effective — a modern-day version of the paramilitary groups that ensured Lincoln's safety during the hard-fought, dangerous 1860 campaign for president that preceded the Civil War (and the president's subsequent suspension of habeas corpus and shuttering of hundreds of newspapers).

Mob rule nothing. Slob rule. By app. Can't wait.

Crime Wave 2021

Scab Of A Nation, Driven Insane

For various reasons I intended to share this number today
& this about the whole shithouse going up in flames from Tom Sullivan at Hullabaloo is an excellent pairing.
Because what is trending in our “deeply traumatized country,” writes Chris Ladd at Political Orphans, are crimes of general mayhem in public settings committed by “white psycho killers, gonzo stories of ‘Florida-man’ crime,” and tales of “white ladies gone mad,” like the naked one who wrecked an Outback Steakhouse.
Check the original: Wypipo be craaa-zy! Good thing what excess energy & spare money I have goes to innocent hobbies, because the idea of rampage has been stewing w/in me since puberty, when many of my differences w/ the world of humanoids began. (Not that I wasn't wise to you pathetic imitations early in my existence.)

That was too damn short. Let's play two, to coin a phrase.

Real, Parody, Or Just The Same B.S.?

Seldom do we troll the fetid waters of The American Spectator for tidbits, but on occasion the waters bubble & we look. Here it's a friendless little memeorandum item. Remember Ben Stein? (Two words: Nixon speechwriter.) Amusing title, too.
Ben Stein / The American Spectator:
Goodbye, America  —  July 2021.  A month that will live in infamy.
And short & stupid enough to leave in its entirety. We emphasized the "funny" parts.
July 2021. A month that will live in infamy. If there is such a thing as “history” in the Biden–Orwell–Soros omni-dictatorship, July 2021 will mark the month that the Constitution, the “greatest work ever thrown off by the hand and mind of man,” as Gladstone put it, was thrown into the Ministry of Truth Memory Hole.

It was put into the “History Erase” well. A bottomless pit.

In this month, actually starting with the month before, that the superpowers of the tech world, Google, YouTube, Amazon, Twitter, Facebook, and Yahoo, admitted to working with the Biden/NKVD administration to suppress free speech.

For months now, we had known that the tech powers were watching us and suppressing any dissident speech against the current administration. I have seen it up close and personal. But what was argued was that the First Amendment to the Constitution protected us only against Congress and the executive branch suppressing free speech. It did not protect us from private enterprises, even very large private enterprises like Amazon or Google or Facebook, keeping tabs on citizens and shutting them out of the internet-sphere if they expressed views contradicting the views and policies of the Biden–Harris–Big Tech Party.

True, there was one big case involving a large steel company suppressing free speech by its workers, and the Supreme Court ruled that such a big company suppressing free speech on its company properties was indeed a violation of the First Amendment. But that was rare indeed.

Now, in the year 2021, the iron curtain has come down hard. With Big Internet Tech and the White House now admittedly colluding to identify and suppress dissidents, even completely nonviolent dissidents, we no longer have a Constitution.

There is just one big corporate–government–IngSoc superstate running everything. Goodbye, America. The GOP, with 50 senators, does nothing. The state legislatures, by far a majority GOP, and the spineless Supreme Court do nothing. And so goodbye to the greatest experiment in the history of the world.

When the Constitutional Congress ended in the late 18th century, as Ben Franklin was walking out, an onlooker said, “What do we have, sir? A republic or a monarchy?”

Franklin answered, “A republic. If you can keep it.”

God help us.

Franklin, Gladstone & Orwell? A trifecta of laziness? And one must admire Stein's new & very expansive interpretation of the First Amendment (Anyone w/ me on wandering over to whichever pad he's in tonight & exercising some free speech directly in his fucking ear? What about Property Rights?) as he whines "we no longer have a Constitution."

Ben's just 'phoning it in to keep up on his property taxes.

An “America First” rally planned for Saturday at the Riverside Convention Center will not take place, the city announced Friday evening.

Officials with the Raincross Hospitality Corp., which manages and operates the city-owned Riverside Convention Center under contract with the city, told city officials Friday night the event would not take place.

The rally was to feature speeches by Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Georgia, and Matt Gaetz, R-Florida.

“I recognize this was a divisive issue in our community, and I am glad it has been resolved,” Mayor Patricia Lock Dawson said. “I commend Raincross Hospitality Corp. for this decision.”

The rally will instead be held at the Anaheim Event Center Saturday night, according to the America First Rally Tour website.

The rally was initially planned for the Pacific Hills Banquet & Event Center in Laguna Hills, but canceled there because “we just want to stay clear of that,” general manager Javad Mirtavoosi told The Orange County Register last week.

Friday Freak-Out: Desmond Dekker Would Have Been 80 Today

Mr. Dekker (né Desmond Adolphus Dacres) alas, went out at 64.
Easy way out of making choices.
Whaddaya know, per the Wiki:
Despite achieving a record deal, it was two years before Dekker saw his first record released. Meanwhile, Dekker spotted the talent of Bob Marley, a fellow welder, and brought the youth to Kong's attention. In 1962 "Judge Not" and "One Cup Of Coffee" became the first recorded efforts of Marley, who retained gratitude, respect and admiration for Dekker for the rest of his life. Eventually in 1963 Kong chose "Honour Your Mother and Father" (written by Dekker and the song that Dekker had sung in his Kong audition two years earlier), which became a Jamaican hit and established Dekker's musical career.
First recording by a Jamaican artist for which this reporter paid cash was Israelites.

Hollywood Homicide

This piqued my interest, as I lived on Martel Ave., five doors south of Sunset, from 1974-'85.
A shooting involving Los Angeles police was reported Thursday in Hollywood.

The shooting occurred about 11:20 a.m. near Martel Avenue and Sunset Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers went to the area on a report of a man with a gun, and two people may have been injured, according to broadcast reports.

Then the L.A.P.D. & the Loony Brandishing Arms community apparently doubled down, mere blocks away.
Los Angeles police officers fatally shot a man on a busy stretch of Hollywood Boulevard on Thursday after receiving multiple 911 calls about a suspect matching the man’s description brandishing a gun on the block, police said.

The shooting occurred in front of a McDonald’s on the south side of Hollywood Boulevard between North McCadden Place and Highland Avenue, next to the Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum and diagonally across the star-lined street from the Hollywood & Highland shopping and entertainment center.

It immediately caused chaos, bystanders said.

“People started scrambling, and there’s kids crying and moms trying to get out of there and tourists confused, and then of course everyone’s cellphones started popping out,” said Eddie Lopez, a local resident who said he was about 20 feet away, on his way to grab lunch, when the shooting occurred. “It was wild.”

Det. Meghan Aguilar, a LAPD spokeswoman, said Hollywood-area officers were called to the area about 11:20 a.m. after police received multiple calls about a man armed with a handgun.

“Some of the comments from those calls indicated he pointed a gun at somebody,” Aguilar said.

After finding the man, at least one officer opened fire under still unclear circumstances, Aguilar said. He was later transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Aguilar said.

The man, described as being in his 40s or 50s, was not immediately identified. Aguilar said what was later determined to be a replica handgun was recovered at the scene.

“Exactly what the suspect did with that handgun that led the officers to fire at him will be determined through watching body-worn video and interviewing the officers and the multiple witnesses that were here for the shooting,” she said.

Aguilar said it was unclear how many officers opened fire, or how many rounds were fired.

Lopez said the sidewalk was full of people when he heard someone who sounded extremely agitated shout, “Don’t touch me.” Then, the shots rang out, he said.

He thought he heard two shots, but someone next to him said they heard four, Lopez said.

He then saw an officer performing what he believed was CPR on the man on the ground as other officers began swarming into the area to direct people away from the scene.

“It happened so fast,” Lopez said. “We were just in shock, like, ‘Whoa, what just happened here?’”

The ambulance, however, seemed to take a long time to arrive, Lopez said.

Aguilar said one other person, a woman, was also transported to a hospital with what she described as a minor injury below the waist. Aguilar said it was not immediately clear how the woman’s injury was sustained, or whether it was a result of gunfire.

The LAPD’s Force Investigation Division, which looks into all police shootings, was on scene and conducting interviews of witnesses — including people who “encountered the suspect and are potential victims of assaults leading up to” the shooting, Aguilar said.

“It’s 12 o’clock on Hollywood Boulevard in July,” she said. “We have a lot of people that we need to talk with.”

Police expected several blocks of Hollywood Boulevard to be shut down through Thursday evening, including the intersection with Highland Avenue — a major feeder onto the 101 Freeway.

“Traffic, I’m sure, will be heavily impacted,” Aguilar said.

Many businesses along the busy tourist stretch were also forced to close as police blocked vehicle and foot traffic through the area.

Emma Colas, 27, said she was working at one of the museums on the block when the shooting occurred.

“The customers thought it was fireworks, but I was like, no, that sounds like gunshots,” she said. “Everyone was running back and forth.”

Colas said she was interviewed by police about what she’d heard — she thought it was five shots — before being told by her boss to head home for the day.

With yellow police tape in every direction, the heart of Hollywood Boulevard was closed for the day.

Wait a sec., both at 1120? Hmmm. May require further investigation. This is clarifying (NOT!!):
A man carrying a replica handgun was fatally shot by police in Hollywood Thursday.

Los Angeles Police Department officers responded about 11:20 a.m. to the 6700 block of Hollywood Boulevard, near Martel Avenue and Sunset Boulevard, on calls of a man armed with a gun, according to a department statement.

Officers arrived at the scene and located the man, at which point, “there was an officer-involved shooting,” police said.

It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting.

The man was shot by police and taken to a hospital, where he died of his wounds. His name was not immediately released.

A female bystander sustained an unspecified injury in the incident and was taken to a hospital in unknown condition. No officers were injured in the shooting.

Detectives discovered a replica handgun at the scene and were interviewing witnesses and “people who may be the victims of assaults by the suspect,” according to an LAPD statement.

Uh, no. Sunset Bl. is two blocks south of Hollywood Bl., & McCadden Place is 11 blocks east of Martel. The photos in the Times are definitely of Hollywood Blvd. What the hell, mynewsLA.com, can't you even do your pathetic stenography/press release reprinting correctly?
