Researchers studying ancient deposits from El Salvador's Ilopango volcano knew that a massive eruption had taken place there sometime between the third and sixth centuries. That event, dubbed Tierra Blanca Joven (TBJ), or "white young earth," sent a volcanic plume towering nearly 50 kilometers into the atmosphere.

Ilopango's not the one that's currently erupting (it may be spent after 539 C.E.) but hope spews eternal.

A man ran from a shoe store in Valencia Saturday after the gun he concealed in his pocket went off.

The accidental shooting occurred about 6:30 p.m. at Journey’s in the Valencia Town Center mall at 24201 Valencia Blvd., according to Lt. Richard O’Neal of the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.

Surveillance video showed the weapon firing toward the floor, O’Neal said. It appeared the discharge was an accident and that the man was not wounded.

The man ran from the store, the lieutenant said, noting it is illegal to carry a concealed weapon without a permit.

The store was temporarily evacuated while deputies investigated the discharge but returned to normal operation, O’Neal said.

The investigation continued, the sheriff’s station tweeted, and anyone with information was asked to contact 661-260-4000, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.

Last night there was an event at Club Q in Colorado Springs, CO. It has been reported as a mass shooting in which 18 were injured and 5 were killed. The pathologically lying media reports that Anderson Lee Alrich, [sic] 22, was taken into custody after being restrained by club attendees. 

I’m confident in positing that this shooting is a psychological operation and nobody died. 

I think this shooting is meant to make the right look dangerous. The recent protests against drag queens will be cited as the lead-up to this. I suspect even Alex Stein will be blamed personally as he just went viral protesting a drag show yesterday in which he apparently stiff-arms an individual preventing Stein and any others from accessing the event. Considering the timing of this Club Q’s planned drag show today, this won’t be a difficult narrative to construct. It practically writes itself.

Entering The Distortion Field

This goober seems to have wandered into an entirely different dimension. His premise? That Trump did too much to mitigate Covid. There are several hundred thousand corpses that might disagree w/ that sentiment.

March, [sic] 29, 2020, is a day that should live in infamy. The national mitigation plan against Covid-19, “15 days to stop the spread,” was about to expire. In the Rose Garden, President Trump declared that lockdowns would continue for another 30 days. I tweeted: “President Trump just lost the election.”

When Mr. Trump announced his 2024 campaign Tuesday, he didn’t apologize for the lockdowns or even mention them. I supported him in 2016, and during his tenure he did much to dredge the political swamps, but his decision to approve and extend drastic Covid interventions should disqualify him for a second term.

The White House Coronavirus Task Force, led by Vice President Mike Pence, Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx, put the Constitution into an induced coma. Mr. Trump’s decision to adopt Chinese Communist Party tactics and close down the country gave license to states to amplify and extend these terrible policies, to governors to wield unprecedented executive powers, and to school districts to shut students out for months or even years.

Mr. Trump did very little to constrain this overreach. His dramatic Covid order shut down your business, barred your kids from school, denied you access to your church, your gym and your coffee shop. It suppressed screenings and treatments for cancer and other illnesses and kept people from visiting loved ones in the hospital or attending their funerals.

Studies appear weekly confirming what almost everyone now acknowledges—the lockdowns were futile as well as onerous. One set of researchers wrote: “Overall, we conclude that lockdowns are not an effective way of reducing mortality rates during a pandemic.”

Mr. Trump paid lip service to the need to reopen the country but never rallied lawmakers or other officials to do anything about it. It was left to governors like Brian Kemp of Georgia and Ron DeSantis of Florida to do that on their own.

Mr. DeSantis signed legislation that put specific triggers in place to prevent county health directors from declaring an emergency with unending powers. He implemented a patient’s bill of rights. He has continued to lead the battle against Dr. Fauci and his unending fear tactics. Little wonder the governor was resoundingly re-elected last week while Mr. Trump’s favored candidates went down in swing states across the country.

Covid-19 weakened America’s political immune system, leaving the country vulnerable to confusion, panic, unease and cowardice. Mr. Trump had been elected to combat this kind of insanity. He failed when it mattered most and doesn’t deserve another term.

Walker's campaign tells Republicans to stop ‘deceptive fundraising’ in Georgia runoff  —  Republican politicians and associated committees are sending out desperate fundraising emails begging the GOP faithful to help save America by getting behind Herschel Walker in his Dec. 6 runoff race against Georgia Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock.

But what’s not immediately clear to recipients is how little of that money is going to Walker's campaign: just a dime for every dollar given by small donors.

Walker’s campaign, which has trailed Warnock’s in fundraising throughout the election, is asking fellow Republicans to stop their fundraising practices — or at least to start sharing more with the candidate.

"We need everyone focused on winning the Georgia Senate race, and deceptive fundraising tactics by teams that just won their races are siphoning money away from Georgia,” Walker campaign manager Scott Paradise said Monday. 

“This is the last fight of 2022, and every dollar will help,” Paradise said. “The companies and consultants raising money off this need to cut it out.”

The campaign said it first noticed the problem Saturday when former President Donald Trump’s Save America sent out an email that asked prospective donors to “contribute ANY AMOUNT IMMEDIATELY to the Official Georgia Runoff Fundraising Goal and increase your impact by 1200%”

Yet another "responsible, law-abiding" substitute weenie owner.

GRAYSON COUNTY, Ky. —

A man is expected to be charged after police said he dropped his gun in a school hallway and accidentally shot himself near children.

Grayson County Sheriff’s Deputies said they were called Wednesday evening to Caneyville Elementary School after the shooting.

They said a 37-year-old man had been struck in the lower part of his leg.

Deputies said video shows the man was there around 7:30 p.m. to pick up his kids from basketball practice. He was running around the hallways playing with a small child when he dropped a gun and it discharged, striking him.

Although no one else was injured, deputies said the gun discharged only a few feet away from the child in the hallway and children on the court.

Grayson County officials said he will be charged with unlawful possession of a weapon on school property and wanton endangerment.

We are not releasing his name as he has not yet been formally charged.

He was flown to UofL Hospital for his injuries and was treated and released Thursday morning.
