Note To Young Punks

Try any elder abuse w/ this reporter & you are lying in a pool of your blood in a supermarket parking lot, you rotten little bastards.
An 83-year-old man got into a fight with another man, 31, at an Amazon Fresh in southwest Los Angeles on Tuesday and fatally shot the younger man, according to Los Angeles police.

The octogenarian suspect was arrested late Tuesday afternoon, the LAPD reported.

The shooting was first reported at 4:05 p.m. in the 6800 block of La Cienega Boulevard.

The 31-year-old shooting victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles Fire Department. His identity has yet to be released by officials.

The Los Angeles Police Department did not say whether the shooting occurred inside or outside the business.

The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and was in police custody. No further details were immediately available.

This man must be freed immediately. Self-defense, stand your ground, & get off my lawn!!

UPDATE: And, per the up-dated story I found when I checked the link, leave my woman alone too. New headline:

80-year-old kills 30-year-old man in fight over a woman, police say

Note that the shooter lost two yrs., while the victim lost one. New third paragraph:
Police reported the victim and the suspect got into a dispute in the parking lot over a woman. The dispute escalated until the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim once, authorities said.

Parental Rights In Florida

Dennis Romero / NBC News:
3 young children die in separate hot-car incidents across the U.S.  —  The deaths happened in Washington state, Texas and Florida between May 24 and Sunday, and doubled the number of hot car fatalities compared to this time last year.  —  Three young children died in recent days after they were found unattended in vehicles in separate incidents in Washington state, Texas, and Florida, authorities said.

The fatalities boosted the number of hot-car deaths for children this year to six, double the number at this time last year, according to Jan Null, a California meteorologist who tracks the incidents.
Not to worry; this means we're back to "normal".
In 2020 and 2021, the annual numbers for child deaths in hot cars — 25 and 23, respectively — were each less than half the figure for 2019: 53. In total, 33 such deaths were reported last year, according to NoHeatStrokeDeath.org.

The numbers are not encouraging because at this time last year, three deaths had been reported, Null said. It's a sign the nation is returning to post-pandemic normalcy, he said.

The Unknown Soldier

Decoration Day (Actual)

Channel surfed across a horribly unrestored version of this on Newsmax, where it was identified as "True Glory: Eisenhower Narrates WWII". Morons. Ike does a quick intro, & credits "the really important men in this campaign ... the enlisted soldiers, sailors & airmen", most of the rest of the narration is readings of letters home & the like from ordinary Joes & Jills, Ken Burns-style.

Aficionados of the genre may appreciate that it's more than U.S. footage & action; it's presented by "The Governments
of Great Britain and the United States of America", & there's footage from British & Canadian forces, & the free forces
of several countries the Krauts conquered. There was a fair amount of U.S. footage I hadn't seen, & I've watched a lot of these things. I like a movie w/ a happy ending.

Southern Post-Secondary Education:
A Continuing Series

Coach's favorite pose, from Ole Miss to today.
Friday we found links concerning how much moolah Senator Coach Tubby-Town has raked in from various educational institutions while bitching about raises for real teachers & getting some racism in.
Official portrait.
But what's his educational record as the doubtlessly highest-paid instructor in Alabama? Typical. Coach makes millions & the "student"-athletes don't even get an education, let alone paid.

Ah yes, good ol' B.U., where Kenneth Starr was welcomed w/ open arms. Looks like an entire culture of Xian sex crime & grooming. That "spiritual mentor" must've "groomed" the living shit out of the pastor for him to turn his young relatives over.

Footsball-Coachin' Sen. Fumbles

William Thornton / al.com:
Tuberville on inner city teachers: 'I don't know whether they can read and write'  —  U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville in a wide-ranging interview with Donald Trump Jr. on Thursday decried the quality of public school education, saying children today are “addicted” to social media and yet don't have basic proficiency in math and reading.
If there are inner city teachers who can't read or write, it's a fair bet they're Auburn or Texas Tech grads.

What this piece of shit made from a public university for teaching a children's game:
AUBURN | Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville has signed a new seven-year contract that will pay him $2 million this year and increase by $200,000 each successive year.

Tuberville and the school agreed in principle to the deal in December, about a week before the Tigers completed a 13-0 season with a 16-13 victory over Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl.

The contract announced Thursday by the school will pay Tuberville a base salary of $210,000, with the remainder coming from endorsements and radio and television deals. Tuberville's previous package was worth $1.5 million.

Then:

Despite Tuberville quitting, Auburn will pay buyout

Nice work if you can quit it & still be paid. Guess what Senator Tubby's thoughts on unemployment benefits are.

Tuberville was paid $5 million to quit. Now he says $600 is too much for you.

When the fucking hell do we start killing all the hypocrites?

Trump and the Saudis: Is Jack Smith finally looking at this clear-cut corruption?  —  Trump's links to the Saudi regime and its LIV Golf tour reek of obvious corruption.  Maybe Jack Smith has noticed  —  There's a lot of Trump legal news these days, what with the E. Jean Carroll verdict …
Didn't Trump want to keep all the Moose-limbs & A-rabs out "until we can figure out what's going on?" What's different about these Saudis? Certainly their "unlimited money" couldn't have changed his principled stand. Or is it just possible that the last three Republican presidents have been owned & operated by the Saudis?

Dodgers Wise Up

See the item directly below.

Dodgers once again welcome The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to Pride Night

[...]
The team's decision to dis-invite the group last week was prompted by criticism from various Catholic groups. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida, sent a complaint to Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred, saying the group "mocks Christians through diabolical parodies of our faith."

That in turn unleashed a wave of criticism against the Dodgers from gay rights activists, local politicians and others who said the team was capitulating to pressure from far-right groups.

Bugger off already, Rubio.

Word Of The Day: "Pipsqueak"

Rebecca Onion / Slate:
America's Leading Republican Pipsqueak Has a New Book on How to Fix Men.  It's a Hoot.  —  Josh Hawley's long-threatened tome about American masculinity is here.  Savor it with me.  —  Josh Hawley calls influencer Andrew Tate onto the carpet in his new book, Manhood: The Masculine Virtues America Needs, the latest salvo in the Missouri senator’s campaign to make himself relevant to anyone—anyone at all. “Tate’s idea of success apparently involved sleeping with as many women as possible, berating them, abusing them, and celebrating it all as manly,” Hawley scolds. “There is no real strength, no discipline or self-command, there. No manhood.”

But to judge by this strange and ineffective book, Tate is, apparently, the only actually bad man in the world. Everyone else—every miserable man in America, of which there are plenty—just needs to read a book like this, full of dense Bible stories, sentimental tales about Hawley’s Midwestern childhood, and potted right-wing histories of the French Revolution, and he’ll be fine.

[…]

And like almost everything Hawley does, the book is an epic disaster. Why did a man who is probably our leading national pipsqueak decide that promoting manliness was his ticket to political power? Maybe he saw one of Jordan Peterson’s crying videos and thought, “If he can do it, why not me?” Manhood is full of Peterson-esque “clean your room” prescriptions: ”You can be a provider and a protector, and you can start by producing something. Get a job. Keep it. Then pay your bills. Then save some money. These small steps go long distances toward making you the kind of man who can be a husband,” goes one such passage. Later on: “Are you going out every night? Stop. Are you sleeping in every morning? Get up.” And so on.*
Slate's caption for the image above: "Sen. Josh Hawley, in what a search of Getty Images reveals is his favorite pose."
These “Epicurean liberals”, w/ their "I'm a man, I'm a man, faster & louder!" chorus, are doubtless more serious about masculinity than Sen. Pipsqueak.

Kill The Landlords, A Continuing Epic

From four days ago, an item about a possibly nearby dump:
The manager of a Koreatown apartment building allegedly offered housing benefits to female tenants in exchange for sex and entered their homes without permission, according to a civil rights lawsuit filed Friday by the U.S. Department of Justice.

Abraham Kesary, who lives at the apartment building on South Western Avenue, allegedly sexually harassed female residents at the rental property from at least 2012 until at least 2020, according to the complaint filed in Los Angeles federal court.

The DOJ alleges that Kesary offered housing-related benefits in exchange for sexual acts, made unwelcome sexual comments and advances to female tenants, entered the homes of female tenants without their permission, and subjected female tenants to unwelcome sexual acts.

Kesary managed the apartment building on behalf of M&F Development, the property’s owner, who is also named as a defendant in the suit. The complaint alleges violations of the Fair Housing Act.

A representative for the property owner could not immediately be reached for comment.

“Mr. Kesary allegedly abused his power as a property manager to sexually harass and victimize vulnerable tenants for years,” U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada said in a statement.

“Sexual harassment is a violation of the Fair Housing Act, and the Justice Department will do everything in its power to seek justice for victims of discrimination and harassment.”

The lawsuit seeks monetary damages to compensate persons harmed by the alleged harassment, a civil penalty to vindicate the public interest, and a court order barring future discrimination.

“No one should be subjected to demands for sex, sexual comments or propositions in exchange for safe and affordable housing,” Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division said.

“A home is a place of refuge; not a place to be subjected to degrading and unlawful harassment,” she said in a statement. “The Justice Department is committed to vigorously enforcing the Fair Housing Act and holding landlords and housing providers accountable when they sexually harass their tenants.”

Big talk, but why did this go on "for years", Justice Dep't.?

Now here's a co-inky-dinky; just 10 days ago I took a few snaps of this bldg., amused by the desperation of the "Affordable" signs.
Something told me I should look it up, & bingo, one & the same!
This place is absolute trash. There are bedbugs and roaches, the apartments are so tiny, the stairwells smell like pee, and they will make up bullshit reasons to keep most of your security deposit. I'd strongly advise running in the other direction.

Self-Defense Time

John Knefel / Media Matters for America:
Conservative pundits are increasingly open about who they think should be killed  —  Right-wing media cheer DeSantis' expansion of the death penalty and try to justify the extrajudicial homicide of Jordan Neely  —  Right-wing media figures are celebrating both Florida's expansion of the death penalty for people who have sexually assaulted children as well as the extrajudicial homicide of Jordan Neely, a Black homeless man killed by a white former Marine on the New York City subway on May 1. The two stories illustrate a growing trend in right-wing media to argue that the deaths of marginalized and criminalized populations are not only justified but actually desirable, whether those killings are carried out by the state or by vigilantes.

Bloodlust is nothing new in right-wing media. From the proto-fascist Father Charles Coughlin through Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly to former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, conservative pundits and writers frequently fantasize about violence aimed at their political opponents or marginalized people. In 1989, Donald Trump, who was a media personality for decades before entering politics, called for the execution of the wrongly convicted Central Park Five, a group of Black and Latino teenagers railroaded into false confessions by the New York Police Department. The conservative ecosystem made a celebrity of Kyle Rittenhouse — who killed two people and injured a third during an August 2020 Black Lives Matter demonstration in Kenosha, Wisconsin — and tried to justify the killings of Trayvon Martin, Ahmaud Arbery, and Eric Garner.
Matthew Chapman / Raw Story:   Republican presidential candidates flooding Daniel Penny with cash: report
And now, a bit of civility from the fake news. Note demeaning & violent imagery.
So who ya gonna believe, the F.B.I. Director or some Nazi wanna-be who types for Townhall? Not to say the F.B.I. is anywhere near the model of probity, but do remind me, when was the last time "Antifa" killed anyone in cold blood? Or killed anyone? Let alone set anyone on fire?

No More Mister Nice Blog is willing to say more about this than the pathetic media, who will no doubt be among the first up against a wall.
