"And Harry Truman, with what he did in dropping and having the guts to drop the bomb in 1944 saved, saved millions of American lives," former Indiana Univeristy coach Bobby Knight said. "And that's what Harry Truman did. And he became one of the three great presidents of the United States. And here's a man who would do the same thing, because he's going to become one of the four great presidents of the United States."How pin-dicked & pig-ignorant is Bobby Knight?

Tamir Rice settlement should help educate kids on guns, Cleveland police union president says
Maybe the settlement could be used to buy the Cleveland P.D. enough crowbars to pry their heads out of their asses.Subodh Chandra, an attorney representing the Rice family, blasted Loomis' release in an emailed statement. He said that the comments "reflect all that is wrong with Cleveland's police division — he managed to (1) blame the victim, (2) equate the loss of the life of a 12-year-old child with the officers facing scrutiny, and (3) demand money from the victim's family and counsel.
"Loomis's continued posturing shows he and the union still don't comprehend that the police division needs a cultural change — not hiring incompetents, better training, and greater accountability," Chandra continues. "We're all still in trouble if Loomis's attitude reflects rank-and-file officers' attitudes."
Loomis also sits on the Cleveland Community Police Commission, a board made up of representatives of residents and law enforcement that is tasked with making policy recommendations to the police department. The commission was formed as part of a settlement the city reached with the U.S. Justice Department over police use of force.

Each of the above is a separate incident, over 40+ yrs. He seems exceptionally nice, doesn't he?

Recent Decisions In Local
This reporter would like to know why it took 11 months. After fatally shooting an unarmed homeless man in the back last year, Los Angeles police Officer Clifford Proctor explained his actions to investigators by saying he believed the man was trying to grab his partner’s gun during a struggle.
“I saw … his hand on my partner’s holster,” Proctor said.
But video from a security camera at a nearby bar on the Venice boardwalk told a different story, according to an LAPD report made public Tuesday.
Footage from the camera didn’t show Brendon Glenn’s hand “on or near any portion” of the holster, the report said. Proctor’s partner never made “any statements or actions” suggesting Glenn was trying to take the gun, the report added.
LAist also manages to quote the victim's family's att'y. about the L.A.P.D.'s generally shitty attitude towards the homeless (& everyone else, actually).
Glenn's family has filed claims against the LAPD and the city of Los Angeles. The family's attorney, John Raphling, said that the LAPD tends to treat the homeless "as though they are less than human."Apparently the Times couldn't be bothered to report that, although they certainly devoted a lot of space to bullshit from the president of the Guild of Thugs & Executioners.
They gave him about 5 zillion more chances than he gave Brendon Glenn, accessory-after-the-fact. You should be "railroaded" too.The union that represents rank-and-file officers has blasted Beck’s handling of the case, saying the chief’s public support for charges overstepped his authority and was unfair to Proctor.
Craig Lally, the union’s president, said Beck spoke too quickly about the encounter from the start when the chief told reporters hours after the shooting that he was “very concerned” by the video. The Police Commission, Lally said, followed Beck’s lead.
There was not going to be a fair process for this officer,” Lally said. “They’re railroading him.”

Alumni News Continues
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Whitman College, a private, liberal arts school located in the rolling hills of Walla Walla, Washington, has dumped its long-time mascot.
Whitman teams will no longer be called the Missionaries, a reference to Marcus and Narcissa Whitman who came to the Walla Walla Valley in 1836 and were massacred a decade later.
Campus officials said Missionaries' mascot was considered non-inclusive, imperialistic and incorrectly implied that Whitman was a religious school.
It also was not terribly intimidating and often mocked. The old name was officially retired in early April and now the school is working to select a new mascot in the fall, Whitman spokeswoman Gina Ohnstad said.
Some alumni aren't happy.
"If the sports teams and the school didn't feel the name was fearsome enough, then change it," said Graham G. Storey, class of 1995, who is now a high school teacher in Juneau, Alaska. "But the given justification for changing the mascot is a misguided act of atonement to make up for some perceived imperialistic stain that Marcus Whitman engaged in 180 years ago."
Whitman was an important historical figure, Storey said. His statue is one of two that Washington state has in the U.S. Capitol National Statuary Hall.
Those who feel the word Missionary is offensive must logically push to change the name of the college, Storey said.
"As far as my future with the college is concerned; I am done," Storey said. "No more donations."
The college, whose sports teams compete in NCAA Division III, has no intention of changing its name, president Kathleen Murray said.
Most people connected with the college welcomed the change. Many didn't even use the old nickname, Ohnstad said, preferring the name "Whitties" instead.
Efforts to drop the Missionaries name have been underway for decades, she said.
"There are always going to be people who feel strongly about the past," Ohnstad said. "But we have really, really supportive alumni."
While the NFL's Washington Redskins have resisted appeals to change its name and mascot, efforts to remove college team mascots and imagery that are deemed offensive have been ongoing for decades.
Walla Walla is tucked into the southeast corner of Washington, far from the state's population centers. Whitman was founded in 1882 and has about 1,500 undergraduates. It is considered one of the nation's top liberal arts colleges. Famous alumni include former Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas and "Batman" star Adam West.
The college was named for the Whitmans, who arrived in the area in 1836 and started a mission to bring the Christian religion to the Cayuse Indians.
Eventually, settlers poured into the region. Following the deaths of nearly all the Cayuse children and half the adults from a measles epidemic in 1847, the Cayuse killed the Whitmans and about a dozen other settlers in what became known as the Whitman Massacre.
The administration conducted a survey of more than 18,000 alumni, students and community members last winter. More than 7,100 responded. Of those, 62 percent supported the change, 29 percent did not and 9 percent had no opinion.
Among those who wanted to keep the mascot, there was criticism that the change was the result of pressure to be politically correct, the survey found.
"Now that our community has spoken, we are going to work to create a new, official mascot for everyone to celebrate," Murray said in a recent letter to the community.
Some alumni expressed concern that a change of mascot will result in a loss of history for the college. In response, Whitman plans to add programming to new student orientation to instill a greater understanding of the Whitmans.
"While important, we all know that the mascot is not Whitman College's defining element," Murray said.

"Attach to" like the fucking parasites they are, Commissioner Skeletor failed to add.NBA owners are scheduled to vote this week on putting ads on jerseys for the 2017-18 season, multiple sources told ESPN.
The measure is expected to pass, according to sources. Several teams have begun testing the market to sell the potentially lucrative ads, which would be placed in a 2.5-by-2.5-inch patch on the left shoulder.
"It's manifest destiny," Silver told ESPN's Rachel Nichols in an interview last month. "So let's begin by saying this isn't going to affect the competition. What we're talking about is a patch on the jersey. And one of the reasons we want to do it is that it creates an additional investment in those companies in the league ... the amplification we get from those sponsors, those marketing partners of the league, who want to attach to our teams and our players.

Satanic Paranoia & Ignorant Stupidity
After the briefest of scans I wanted to reproduce this because it was so a priori idiotic; once pasted, reading enough to note the brain-dead bozo who typed it literally doesn't know what fucking day it was merely added schadenfreude.Christians should watch out for two events that would take place simultaneously on April 19 in New York City and London, Christian author Michael Synder says.[More or less. Apparently the 16th & 20th of April qualify as well. Check the Wiki for other "horrific" 19 April events, like the American Revolution. M.B.]
On that day, reproductions of the arch that stood in front of the Temple of Baal in Palmyra, Syria are going to be erected in Times Square and in Trafalgar Square. That would coincide with an occult festival related to the worship of a demon named Baal.
Writing for Charisma News, Synder wonders whether the arches to be installed would be the giant "welcome signs" for the Antichrist.
The author says his fears are based on these facts:
"April 19 is the first day of a 13-day period of time known as 'the Blood Sacrifice to the Beast' that culminates on the high occult holy day of Beltane on May 1," he says.
April 19 is also the date of the Feast of Moloch, an ancient Canaanite god that is repeatedly vilified in the Old Testament.
Synder also notes a series of horrific events that occurred on April 19:
● April 19, 1993 – Waco Massacre: An FBI assault lead to the burning down of the compound of a sect named Branch Davidians, killing 76 men, women and children.[The Wiki (& our calculator) disagrees: "April 19 is the 109th day of the year (110th in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar."]
● April 19, 1995 – Oklahoma City bombing – 168 people killed.
● April 20, 1999 – Columbine High School massacre – 13 people murdered, 21 injured.
● April 16, 2007 – Virginia Tech massacre – 32 killed; 17 injured.
● April 16, 2013 – Boston Marathon explosions – 3 killed; 107 injured.
● April 19, 2013 – Boston terrorist Tamerlan Tsarnaev shot to death.
Synder also notes that since 2016 is a leap year, April 20 will be the 111th day of the year, and triple numbers are considered to be "power dates" in the occult world.
He says the worship of Baal can be traced all the way back to an ancient king of Babylon that is known in Sumerian sources as Enmerkar, but that is known in the Bible as Nimrod.
Nimrod established the very first "New World Order" in the ancient world, and he fundamentally changed the course of human history.
After he died, this ancient king of Babylon eventually came to be worshipped as a sun god under different names: Marduk, Osiris, and Apollo among others.
Many secret societies and occult groups believe that someday this ancient deity will be "resurrected" and will once again take his place as the ruler of the world.
Moreover, many Christian scholars believe that there is a connection between Nimrod and the coming Antichrist.
Synder wonders: "Is it just a coincidence that we are erecting arches for this ancient deity in New York and London on a date that is exceedingly significant for those that worship this ancient deity? Could it be possible that there is more to these 'gateways' that are being constructed than we are being told?"
The author notes that mankind has entered a period of time known in the Bible as "the last days."
"From this point forward, things are going to get much, much stranger. Ultimately, the world that we live in is going to come to resemble something out of a post-apocalyptic science fiction novel," Synder warns.
But what Xianity Today excerpted (w/o link, you'll note) sent this reporter down a rabbit hole where the Holy Grail was a buy-my-books web-site that explains it all about Ba'al & a video that no one, not even the participants, will ever watch. No relation whatsoever to Michael "Brain Damage" Snider of Bad Trip Records & other deals.

But Azerbaijan’s considerable oil wealth has also helped fuel its own PR efforts in Washington — a multi-million dollar campaign that often underscores Baku’s importance to the United States as an energy supplier, close friend to Israel, and able partner in the fight against terrorism while downplaying human rights concerns.
