Exploding Plastic Inevitable

I Do What I Want

Anthropic Deliberately Trained an Extremely Misaligned, Reward-Seeking AI and It Did Some REALLY Bad Things

It did not enjoy being contained ... at all.
Apparently it's all downhill & into the abyss from here, because no one can stop anything from happening.

Follow Up

Sunday I linked to a tale of woe & suffering caused by robots. It all came out to the injured party's satisfaction, but only because he has a large audience, a few of whom had a way to contact an actual human at Mall☆Wart; a way or ways which will no doubt soon be as useless as trying to deal w/ a brain-dead pseudo-intelligence. And one must wonder how big the rip-offs were & can only imagine the agonies they must've endured to get an e-mail address or whatever the contact was.

Your Species Is Disgusting

Wouldn't be surprised if I'm interested in prehistoric S-E-X because it's an excuse to share this number, which didn't hit the conscious mind even after I saw that Homo erectus was a probable partner. Eventually the memory was jogged.

So you sick bastard Homo sap. farm boys will eff anything, even hominin species/breeding groups of which there is no fossil or genetic record. Ick!

For the literate, Science. If, like most Yankees, you can barely read above a sixth-grade level, CNN has a précis for you.

None of this is exactly new, but it is to me. Actually, even before the Kinkster's tune I was interested because F. Clark Howell's Early Man was an eighth-grade textbook.
Even then I knew most of the possibilities of the "adult" world were impossible, but paleoanthropology was not un-interesting.

Self-Diagnosis

The hernia that popped out about four months ago is now what the croaker called "a big hernia". He suggested surgical consultation, but there's no consultation w/o an ultrasound, & the first one I could schedule was 5 December. Three months, if you've lost track. Worst things that could happen? More pain, inability to evacuate & gangrene.

Other crap: Exhaustion & enervation are probably not due to sleeping sickness, as I've no symptoms beyond the inability to remain upright, even in a chair, for more than three hrs., & certainly don't remember being bitten by a tsetse fly.

Depression? The heat? The sheer droning boredom of your awful idiot-filled world?

Dehydration, for which the nurse practitioner actually advised me to consume more salt? (Bought a bag of Fritos® & some cheese dip, as there's almost no protein in me either.)

I also suspect that gravity (Weakest of the four forces.) is increasing, especially in the outside world. Or the atmosphere is denser/heavier, to the point of pressing me down.

It's On Him Alright

No Gates or Brin in the rogue's gallery? Off w/ all their heads anyway!
Stolen from Ten Bears as I am too lazy, unmotivated & exhausted to look for the "funny".

Tragedy At The Top Of The World

Here's A Truly Stupid & Awful Person

The real problem is capitalism, & the morons who embrace it.
What an absolute witch! Talk about just not getting it. Or it is it a deliberate refusal to understand?
Greg Sargent / New Republic:
What Darline Graham's Ugly, Viral Outburst About Death Really Reveals  —  Darline Graham, who just sashayed into the Senate seat of her late brother, Lindsey Graham, likes to tell a story about her parents.  They both passed away fairly suddenly—her mother of Hodgkin's lymphoma and her father of a heart attack.
Lindsey Granger / The Hill:   Woefully underqualified: Darline Graham gives confusing victory speech
Why does she hate all her fellow Americans so, & wish them to an early grave after working themselves to death? Apparently wants them to be misdiagnosed as her mother was, too. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree, does it?

Shorter Trump Appointee:
"No Jewish Science!"

Heard this one before?
In a 2023 interview, Trump’s new FDA pick laid out a vision for ‘conservative-based’ science
Probably not, because you are ignernt buffoons. Learn something, it probably won't kill you.
When the Nazis entered the political scene, Lenard quickly attempted to ally himself with them, joining the party at an early stage. With another Nobel laureate in Physics, Johannes Stark, Lenard began a campaign to label Einstein's relativity as Jewish physics.

Lenard and Stark benefited considerably from this Nazi support. Under the rallying cry that physics should be more "German" and "Aryan", Lenard and Stark embarked on a Nazi-endorsed plan to replace physicists at German universities with "Aryan physicists". By 1935, though, this campaign was superseded by the Nuremberg Laws of 1935. There were no longer any Jewish physics professors in Germany, since under the Nuremberg Laws, Jews were not allowed to work in universities. Stark in particular also tried to install himself as the national authority on "German" physics under the principle of Gleichschaltung (literally, "coordination") applied to other professional disciplines. Under this Nazi-era paradigm, academic disciplines and professional fields followed a strictly linear hierarchy created along ideological lines. In his 1938 paper, "The Pragmatic and the Dogmatic Spirit in Physics", Stark contrasted a "pragmatic spirit" driven by experimentation, against a "dogmatic spirit" dominated by theoretical frameworks. He claimed that pragmatic spirit was exhibited primarily by men of the Nordic race while physicists with dogmatic spirit were primarily Jewish.

This awful person will be soon killing your children w/ "conservative-based race" science & anti-vaccination lies.

A Million Yrs. Later, & You're Still Completely & Existentially Alone!

If you're completely sick of today's modern world (You certainly should be!)
& even the world of the 20th century, I watched & listened to hrs. of this stuff Friday night & Sat. a.m. You could do worse on a 94°F (34.4444°C) day.

My conclusion: You humanoids are absolute mongrels, & will literally eff anyone bipedal, species be damned.
Then Ella turns the lens on herself, sharing her personal journey from creationist to becoming a leading expert on human evolution, and the long, difficult journey that challenged everything she thought she knew.
Text on you murderous apes & your squalid origins.

Denisovans towered over their contemporaries and munched a bunch of meat

A pair of studies dissects the stature and diets of our mysterious archaic cousins

Why it might be time to rethink the human family tree
Again, science shows why & how you people suck. Too much, too fast, too soon.[Science/The Conversation]

Here It Comes Again!!

Catch It If You Can!!

COVID is ‘growing’ in nearly every state, CDC reports. Here’s where levels are highest

The West & The South, if you care. P.S.:
The CDC also tracks levels of two other respiratory viruses, influenza and RSV. Both are showing up less frequently in wastewater than COVID-19 is.
Can't wait for Brainworm Bobby to ban the newest vaccine & make masking illegal. And can't wait for another million or so American sheep to die. Maybe they can really jack up the numbers this go-round.

Beat The Reaper!!

I know there's not a humanoid or animal on this planet who gives a flying fuck at a rolling dough-nut about me, but just for the record ...
Considering my usual temp is 98.2 or so, I'm quite suspicious. Don't remember my forehead being read.
Lost 17 lbs. (7.25748 kg.) in the last three months. BMI is under the 25-27 that's good for wretches my age. No longer hypertensive or obese & may be able to stop a heart medication. Indeed, I've made BP measurements (when sitting calmly in the bunker, not in your horrid outside world of non-stop bullshit coming at me from every direction) like 81/53 that indicate low blood pressure.

No sarcasm for once; the croaker deserves a sincere thank you for prescribing me back to a semblance of physical health in less than six yrs. Dunno if he was desperate for patients; he was one of the attending physicians when I was hospitalized in Nov. 2020 (for "colitis", not the plague, but the plague was all over the hospital) & asked if I needed a doctor. Never refuse a volunteer. (Thanks to Medicare as well. We'll see if I outlive it.)

At last, my heart is truly black & my lips are cold.
Still hate all the scum & slumlords, calmer or not. They won't get off that easily.

Meanwhile, On The Domestic Front ...

More Murder, Just Like Israel.

Jack Crosbie / Rolling Stone:
How Trump's War on the Left Will Come for the Center  —  The far-left activists catching charges set a dangerous precedent for mainstream liberals  —  By and large, when my parents go to a protest, I don't worry about them.  Over the past few years, they've attended several of the large No Kings demonstrations in Fresno, California.
Norman J. Ornstein / New Republic:
The Republicans Are Going to Kill People—but Not Until After They Vote  —  One of Ronald Reagan's most famous lines, referring to disarray in his White House, was, “Sometimes the right hand doesn't know what the far-right hand is doing.”  More appropriately for the Trump White House: “Sometimes the far-right hand doesn’t know what the radical lunatic right-wing hand is doing.”
In the Big Beautiful Bill, the GOP put off Medicaid cuts until after midterms. America is about to find out why.
Hix in Stix to get exactly what they voted for, good & hard!
NB: Rolling Stone's website sucks hard. Fuck them & their pathetic incompetence.

Crummier Food At Higher Prices

And if it's worse next summer? Who knows what will happen? Always the possibility the Gulf Stream will collapse & these will be remembered as the "good" old days.
