50 yrs. ago today, Touch-Tone dialing was introduced to these United Snakes by the American Telephone & Telegraph Co. in two towns in Pennsylvania, Carnegie and Greensburg.
Pulse Editor: Ma Bell was in no hurry, at least in SoCal. The singular we didn't have Touch-Tone until the late '70s or the early '80s, & then only because we'd had to call Pacific Bell & the repairman asked if we wanted Touch-Tone while he was there.
Course that's the only time we can remember having to call them because the line was dead, but that could still be a coincidence.
Shouldn't we all start a Goo-glay++ "hangout?" And, like, hang out?

Funny how long the rotary dial phones stuck around.
I'd like to take this moment to state:
1) I hate google+. If I wanted some b.s. EffBook thinghie, I'd sign up for FaceHell.
2) I also don't like google's fascist email diktats.
