We gave you PTSD, now we're taking your food.About 900,000 veterans and 5,000 active duty troops face cuts in their food stamp benefits beginning Thursday as $5 billion is automatically trimmed from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program for low-income families.
"The coming benefit cut will reduce SNAP benefits, which are already modest, for all households by 7 percent on average, or about $10 per person per month," according to an analysis by the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities.
"Nationwide, in any given month, a total of 900,000 veterans nationwide lived in households that relied on SNAP to provide food for their families in 2011," according to an analysis of census data, the Center's report said.
(Don't let it be said we are unsympathetic: Is there no Gov't. Cheese for these lazy losers?)

But... but... I have a flag pin and a yellow ribbon magnet!!!
I have TWO yellow ribbons on my Escalade! I would have more but my gated community has deed restrictions on how many bumper stickers I can have.
Don't you get those communist unearned food voucher thingies?
How much did you lose?
Elderly or Disabled Editor:
Nope. Food Stamps are for the working poor. The disabled & the Socially Secured are forbidden.
Well damn, we just discovered that's only state-wide, not nat'l.:
"An important exception to this is that in the State of California SSI recipients are not eligible for SNAP benefits, because they receive a State supplement to their SSI benefits in lieu of SNAP benefits."
(Heh. Truly a Golden State: No bullshit food-only stamps, but cash [sic] money, fungible for likker, terbaccy, &c.)
Also, you would've heard us shrieking. Hell, Mr. The Bastard would've heard the shrieking in the City of Y______ on the wrong coast.
(Should they fuck w/ our housing subsidy, as sequestration has already come close to doing, heads will roll, right before we put them on pikes for a parade around town. Not a threat; a promise!)
