Go ahead. You'll get what you deserve.
Sadly, judging from our cruise of the Hollywood Borders that was shutting down, there isn't shit (or there is nothing but shit: What a word "shit" is!) left in the stores. Even if they apply serious rather than mere 30% reductions to whatever's still in the stores, or warehouses.
We hope the witch who fired us from the already-closed Westwood Borders is now completely out of a job. (She was still a "manager" there when we were homeless & using the dump as a reading room. A shame she never recognized us & reminded us we'd been told to "stay out of the building.") Screw her. Wish we could remember her name so we could insult her publicly, & we hope she too is homeless soon.

Woah 11,000 people losing jobs. Not pretty.
I empathise with MB's feelings of bitterness however and can think of people that I would wish trouble upon too.
However they are the sort of corporate creeps that get to the top of the heap.
They didn't just destroy themselves, they destroyed a lotta bookstores and related jobs on the way.
So you were at the one on Westwood south of Wilshire? Just round the corner from the Attari Sandwich Shop?
I worked at the UCLA Westwood building in 2003 - 2005. I went to that Borders all the time.
I suppose if you have to go corporate, it might as well be fore books. But still, I prefer indy bookstores. Too bad Borders was around long enough to fuck up Duttons before it died.
Corporate Affairs Editor:
That's the one. '98-'02.
Real McJobs, 'though the discounts were nice. We are (Really!) sympathetic for the other aging losers there who'll probably never get another job.
They'd already shed plenty of jobs too. Where's the bail-out?
Since Borders contributed to shuttering the best local indie bookstore, I can't muster much sympathy for the corporate jackdiddlers.
Schwartz bookstores always hired clerks that knew books, too.
Bad Luck Editor:
We are also proud to note that w/in mos. of the Fascist Insect Bank laying us off, it too was history.
Next: FedExOffice!
I remember, M.B. It was the blonde one, wasn't it? Who used to be a marine?
Jobless Editor:
The only faces the editorial we recognized in 2008 were managers: Tracy & the shortish blond woman w/ the glasses who actually fired us 'cause she was the human resources overseer at the time.
'Though we only visited during the evenings in 2008.
P.S.: Have seen Gene (on the bus) & Ira (at the 99¢ Only Store).
Additional Editor:
Extra P.S.: Sorry the damn robot thought you (An actual, known-to-us human, yet!) were spam.
And hey, remember that guy Jorge? The big dude? Whatever happened to him?
And all because you had to assert your 2nd amendment rights!?
Poor Jorge hasn't had a real job since. The rest of us might as well hang out at the 99¢.
Irked Editor Notes:
We continue to mark you "not spam," & remain confident Bugger™ will learn.
The exact quote: "I've got to get out of this place before I kill someone," muttered semi-under the breath while storming away.
Not even Second Amendment-style threatening.
