Interesting, If Not Good News
Stolen in its entirety from Political Wire, as Status wants your e-mail in return for reading. Shove it up your ass, Status, you greedy pigs. I don't need more fucking bullshit infesting my inboxes. Or my telebison.Status: “According to Nielsen ratings obtained by Status in advance of their release, October 2026 will be Fox News’ lowest-rated month since December 2023, with the network averaging 1.1 million total day viewers. Among viewers in the advertiser-coveted 25-54 demographic, the picture is even worse. Fox News will post its lowest-rated month in that category in 25 years, averaging just 98,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo.””Those figures represent a steep 27% drop compared to last October in total viewers, and a 32% plunge in the 25-54 demo…”
”The Fox News ratings indicate that conservatives are tuning out ahead of the high-stakes elections. While television ratings are not a scientific measure of voter enthusiasm, the eye-popping decline in Fox News’ audience should be a flashing warning sign for Trump and his Republican allies as voters prepare to head to the polls. In comparison to Fox News, the progressive MS NOW is averaging 588,000 total day viewers, a 16% spike compared to last year, suggesting enthusiasm has shifted to the Democratic side of the aisle.”

Let's Have A War Department
Uh-huh. 90 days alright, until the first attack that destroys a supply dump. They're like eight-yr. olds; no connection to reality at all, just making up "cool" stuff w/ tough-sounding names. As if no swarthy furriners could keep a siege going over 90 days. Hell, the idea of Yankee "FORTRESSES" in the Mid-East puts this reporter in mind of Crusader castles. And it'll be a huge waste of your taxpayer dollars.

Idle Thoughts I Barely Care About
Surely None Of You Will
Positive development: My primary care physician apparently over-diagnosed the thing on the bottom of my foot. Went all the way to Westwood to see a podiatrist, who said it was a mere callus, not the plantar wart (caused by a strain of HPV virus) the M.D. thought it was. He applied cryotherapy twice, the podiatrist simply shaved it right off. No pain, then or now.Other non-negative note: Rec'd. both pension & Social Security today, & still had US$505.87 in the credit union & a twenty in my pants. Guess I can afford several turnouts at $30.00 each now.Completely negative: Watching baseball on Peacock, & its few advertisers. Does NBCUniversal no longer have a sales staff? I'm more than ready for TikTok to be banned worldwide & all involved to be imprisoned if I see that effing advert once more. What a crock. If they can't get more than five or six sponsors, could the sponsors make a couple more commercials so we needn't see the same damn ones approximately 50+ times per game? Nor am I interested in any Peacock streaming series, let alone seeing the same promos over & over & over & over. And yes, we understand very well that "This copyrighted broadcast is presented by the authority of the Office of the Commissioner of Baseball. It may not be reproduced or retransmitted in any form, and the accounts and descriptions of this game may not be disseminated without express written consent." Most broadcasts only recite that once. I'm wearing out the mute button.Good to see the Pale Hose beat the Houston Cheat-os. The South Siders might be fun in a Series w/ L.A.'s former Bums of Brooklyn. And maybe next yr. the Cubs & Sox can face off in the Series.Monday, September 28, 2026
The Heights Of Racist Absurdity
They certainly like the word "skewer".Nikki McCann Ramirez / Rolling Stone:
Right-Wingers Are Mad Anti-Welfare Ad Isn't Racist Enough — Sarah Huckabee Sanders has been attacked by her own party for depicting a lazy white guy named “Brad” in an ad about fraud — No racist Republican trope has survived the test of time quite like that of the “welfare queen.”Lauren Green / Washington Examiner: Huckabee Sanders slammed for ad featuring white man on welfare
Speaking of losers, J.B. couldn't make it out of the '22 Republican primary. Poor widdle white boys, so abused. The DC:However, the portrayal of Brad was met with swift condemnation on social media by many conservative voices, who noted that white men are among the Republican Party’s most loyal voters.“This is a massive own goal, @SarahHuckabee, and you should fire the consultants who made this ad,” Senior Counsel Internet Accountability Project Will Chamberlain wrote on X. “Do not portray your core voting bloc as losers, period.”
“Years ago, Democrats abandoned young white men and turned them into enemies for political purposes,” wrote Jake Bequette, a former NFL player and 2022 Senate candidate in Arkansas. “It was only a matter of time until Republicans explicitly did the same. That time is now. The crown is in the gutter for anyone who unapologetically fights for young white men.”
Oh, my heart pumps piss for these whining weenies. Break out the tiny violin.Consultants have a stock slacker, and for a decade, that slacker has been a white male. They’re the butt of every sitcom joke, portrayed as an idiot in commercials; they are the cautionary tale in political ads. Meanwhile, every other demographic is the hero or victim of the white male slacker. The ultimate insult of Sanders’s ad is that the GOP is perpetuating this insanity.

Lies? As Long As They "Resonate", It's Fine
Republican racist (Redundant?) Bo French has retrieved "Bolshevik" from the dustbin of history.Axios:
House GOP's top messenger: Socialism attack line “doesn't really resonate” — House Republicans' top messenger has three pieces of advice for candidates trying to survive the midterms: Call Democrats “communists,” don't gaslight voters on inflation — and trust your district if it tells you to deviate from President Trump.
"Commie Jew Comm-u-niss!"French has begun to direct his venom Rosenthal’s way. Texas Monthly’s Robert Downen, the foremost chronicler of French’s rise and the Texas far-right, recently reported on a fundraising email from the campaign that accused Rosenthal, who is Jewish, of “mocking Christianity” and compared him to the Bolsheviks who killed Russia’s ruling Romanov family—a trope with a deep antisemitic history.
