Police say 8-year-old boy from Mercer County was 'a couple of weeks from death'
Grim details at the above link, which timed itself out when I went shopping & paywalled itself away, or I'd have copied the ugly & pasted it right here where evil & ugly go hand in hand.
Three people charged with the abuse of an 8-year-old Mercer County boy were ordered to stand trial on all charges today, including the new charges of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Mary Rader, 28, the boy’s mother, Deana Beighley, 47, his grandmother, and Mrs. Beighley’s husband, Dennis Beighley, 58, are accused of withholding food from 8-year-old Antonio Rader, who police said looked like a "Holocaust victim" when Mercer County authorities responded June 6.

Mercer County District Attorney Robert Kochems today added charges of attempted first- and third-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first- and third-degree murder for all three defendants.

They also were held on aggravated assault, aggravated assault of a child under 13, false imprisonment, unlawful restraint, endangering the welfare of a child and conspiracy.

The courtroom erupted into applause when Judge Brian Arthur changed bond for all three to $100,000 straight cash.
