On A More Positive Note ...

Well, it'll be positive for this reporter, if the L.A.P.D. murder of an unarmed & defenseless mentally challenged (& African-American, sur-fucking-prise) man lying on the street results in civil unrest, rioting & "rebellion," as well it should. One of my great regrets is not having helped myself to my share & more of the American Dream in 1992 when the people tried to rise up against an oppressive gov't. & the police, for once, were not protecting & serving the property of the wealthy. This time for sure!
It was unknown if the “suspect” had any gang affiliations, police said in the news release.
Because it would be perfectly acceptable were he a "gang member?"
A man who did not give his name and identified himself only as a cousin of the victim described what he witnessed, saying he had been around the corner when the altercation first occurred.

“They laid him out and for whatever reason, they shot him in the back, knowing mentally, he has complications. Every officer in this area, from the Newton Division, knows that — that this child has mental problems,” the man said.

“The excessive force … there was no purpose for it. The multiple shootings in the back while he’s laying down? No. Then when the mom comes, they don’t try to console her … they pull the billy clubs out.”
Aaaah. You know who else wanted to cull the defective, don't you?

Let's compare & contrast coverage:
Nicole Flatow/ThinkProgress: Witnesses Say LA Police Shot And Killed A Man While He Was Laying On The Ground
Los Angeles Times: Protest planned after LAPD officer shoots, kills man during struggle
Ignoring (if you can) the fact that the young man was lying on the ground, not "laying" (Learn English, Nicole Flatow!!!) & note that the L.A. Times blindly re-spews the Police Dep't.'s lies, rather than the word of the witnesses who aren't concerned about murder charges. (A joke, of course: The police are never worried about being charged for anything they do.)
A protest is being planned for Sunday in front of Los Angeles police headquarters in downtown after a man was shot and killed by an officer this week in Florence.
We'll be there, probably. 1500 Sunday seems at least possible.

Sounds like it was more than two more shots (America really isn't for people who don't fit the right profile).
