Up In The Air, Junior Birdmen

Every departure from LAX's South Complex and a few arrivals at the north complex have been captured and pieced together to create this image.
Other aviation shots from Mike (obvs. not his real name) Kelley.

If it weren't for LAist, we could stay in bed all day. (So stop it!)
He took some liberties and moved some of the planes around a bit, but he said that the angles and takeoff sequences remain accurate. He told the Huffington Post, "I thought it was interesting how incredibly accurate and precise every single takeoff was. I didn’t change the angle of the planes in the photo-- every plane takes off in exactly the same manner, no matter how big it is. I think that speaks to the technical proficiency of the pilots."
Cynics say: That, or the auto pilot.

The plane! The Plane!

(I hope you saw my contribution...my theory is that a camera is always in "aircraft mode".)
