As recordings go I think Kris Kristofferson's rendition is best, with Johnny's a tight second. The latter's video was a better, more gritty streets of L.A. kind of thing, while Kris' was later and more clearly choreographed, though there are a couple of clips from his earliest movies in there that are nowhere to be found today, you had to have seen them to know. I probably heard this one back in the day, but as a bit of a purist it just didn't click ...
Failing Memory Editor: I started by looking for the Charlie Rich version, but that must've been an hallucination, because he doesn't seem to have covered it.
