The Party's Over

Jah Him Ah Gonna Juke Dem Down!

The Independent is unsettled. Does Lumpy hire people he's seen on the telly because they're such good boot-lickers?
Trump was reading from a piece of paper in front of him for this entire appearance, but when he did attempt to go off-script, it went very quickly awry. This policy is for “the amazing veterans who are with the — with, with us — they’ve just been with us from the day they were born, I suspect,” he said, in a trailing aside.

It was pure nonsense, even by the standards of Trump. It was so weird that I had to listen to it back to make sure I'd heard what I thought I'd heard.

“American highways and roadways have been terrorized” by immigrant drivers, he continued, who were driving “big rigs. Rigs like that—” At this point, a large truck caught his eye and he continued, “—Wow, that sucker is a big one. That’s big stuff.”

Trump is known for peppering his speeches with such interruptions, but these had a low energy to them and an undercurrent of confusion. Sure, he could read out from the paper that “radical left maniacs” have given out commercial licenses to people here illegally, and claim that an immigrant from Haiti who caused the death of an American citizen was “let in by Joe Biden.” But when he needed to elaborate, he could only say that such aliens had caused “many, many deaths, too many to talk about.”

[...]

Luckily, transportation secretary Sean Duffy was there to add his own two cents. Jumping in with vigor, Duffy painted a suitably horrifying picture of the vulnerable American family being preyed upon by evil, English-eschewing migrants with designs on their two most sacred activities, Christian worship and mass consumption: “When these illegals were driving these big rigs, they were killing American citizens,” he yelled.

Whether you were “a family going to Walmart or going to church on a Sunday,” you were liable to be run down at every turn.

[...]

This extended show of fealty — which took up almost as much time as the talk about opportunities for veterans — earned Duffy a nod from the president, and presumably protected him from his ire. But this, combined with the frail delivery from Trump, pointed to something alarming: a president who increasingly loses his train of thought, who struggles to make the quick quips and connections he once did, and a surrounding team that is sycophantic to the point of absurdity.

It’s pretty obvious that there isn’t just a lack of pushing-back within the Trump cabinet; there’s a demand for time-wasting, toadying displays of OTT loyalty. There’s also clearly pressure to look the other way, to paper over the cracks when the president flounders.

The ‘Freedom Haulers’ thing, by the way, is nothing new. It’s simply an extension of an older policy, and there’s very little proof that it will do much for the economy, for immigration, or for veterans. But listen, the amazing veterans have been with us since the day they were born, and Donald Trump is a masterclass. Hand on heart, is there anything more you need to hear than that?

This?

Trump Hates Immigrants So Much He’s Going to Make Roads More Dangerous

Trump wants veterans to take immigrant truckers’ jobs—by letting them skip required steps for their license. What could go wrong?

Twilight of The Knobs:
NAKED EMPEROR

We’ve Officially Entered the Twilight of Late-Stage Trumpism

It’s all there in a new CNN poll, and it’s heartening to see: Large majorities are sick of Donald Trump’s vanity, venality, and megalomania.

Just as long as Nebuchadrezzar dies during the upcoming Democratic Socialist administration that will give him the funeral & day of national celebration/mourning he deserves.

History Lesson

Hey! Look! We found Mitch McConnell!
Sixty-one years ago today, President Lyndon Johnson signed Medicare and Medicaid into law as an amendment to the Social Security Act.

Two years ago, President Trump promised that he would “never let anyone touch your Medicare.”

Yesterday, this Administration announced dramatic cuts to Medicare, spiking prescription drug costs for up to 25 million seniors.

That’s some lousy anniversary present!

Not to mention a horrific betrayal.

Envisioning The American Dream.

Fi-Yuh In France!

French firefighters were still battling a wildfire four times the size of Paris cutting through forests west of Bordeaux on Wednesday. (AP video by Alexander Turnbull)
Factoid: The city of Light itself is pretty petite, 6 miles (9.5 km) north-to-south and 7 miles (11 km) east-to-west. The Euros won't have to worry about wildfires as much when there's a major slowdown or shutdown of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) — the broader ocean conveyor belt that includes the Gulf Stream — driven by melting polar ice and freshwater dilution. Is AMOC pronounced "amok"?

"Goofy-Ass Uniforms"

It acknowledges the day Parisians stormed the Bastille fortress and prison in 1789, helping spark the French Revolution that overthrew the monarchy. Ukrainian fighter pilots and troops took pride of place the celebrations Tuesday showcasing support for Ukraine and symbolically flexing European military muscle.
Take that, puto Putin! As noted in the item directly below.

From The Crime Blotter

Not that far from this reporter.I dunno about the reported "gunman"; could have been an angry spouse who didn't think an illegal gambling report would get the heat to do anything. Yrs. ago a friend who was selling reefer had a disgreement w/ his upstairs neighbor about my friend's loud music at all hrs. & the neighbor called the police & claimed my friend was selling heroin & had guns. Suffice it to say the police were happy enough to make a reefer bust.

No Third Terms!

Violent clashes erupted in the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo on Friday during a rally against a proposed constitutional change. Opponents say the change could allow President Félix Tshisekedi to seek a third term, which they see as a serious threat to stability.
Would Americans ever resist like this? Probably not, because they think they have something to lose. They'll see.

On A Slightly Positive Note

"Temperature's Rising"

The U.K. smashed a century-old temperature record for the second time in 24 hours on Tuesday as a spring heat wave continued to scorch parts of Western Europe, triggering government warnings about risks to life. Several drownings were reported in Britain and France as people tried to cool down. A temperature of 35 Celsius (95 Fahrenheit) was recorded at London's Kew Gardens and Heathrow Airport, Britain's Met Office weather service said, breaking the 34.8 C (94.6 F) record set a day earlier. The provisional readings smashed the previous record of 32.8 C (91.4 F) set in 1922 and 1944.

Pearls Clutched & Panties In A Twist

Not that this web-log is in any way opposed to grilling.
Fake news thinks it's "owned the libs" again. "Foreign Communist", "Transnational Invaders" (That's a new one to me.) & "socialist". You tell 'em!
Jamie Paige / New York Post:
LA mayoral hopeful Nithya Raman proposes backyard BBQ ban
Jennifer Oliver O'Connell / RedState:   LA Mayoral Hopeful Blames Your Carne Asada—Not Homeless Fires—for Wildfire Risk
All very funny. It certainly wasn't "homeless fires" that started the Eaton fire, it was SoCalEd's high-tension power lines. The Palisades fire was set by a deliberate arsonist, & smoldered for a wk. because the L.A. City Fire Dep't. didn't fully extinguish it. Homeless people are forced to use fire, but their fires are usually in concrete-lined river bottoms & burn little but brush.

Note to Brodigan / Louder With Crowder: BBQ-ing doesn't stay in "your backyard".
And a note to Nolte of Breitbart: Who finances your little operation? Billionaire Nazis?

Dunno who this Spencer Pratt is (A prat w/ a surname for a first name?) but he would seem to be the darling of the droolers. Vote accordingly.

More Morbidity

It's Back!!

Huh. Fifty yrs. since the first reporting.
The first symptoms are usually fever, sore throat, muscle pain, and headaches. These are usually followed by vomiting, diarrhoea, rash, hepatic and renal dysfunction, at which point some people begin to bleed both internally and externally. The disease causes a mortality rate of anywhere between 25 and 90%, averaging out at approximately 50%. The viral species involved and timing of treatment play a critical role in its prognosis. Death is often due to shock from fluid loss, and typically occurs between 6 and 16 days after the first symptoms appear.

The viruses have caused intermittent outbreaks in Sub-Saharan Africa since 1976 when the disease was first reported.

I hope you-know-who's cutbacks in American aid are responsible for this & help it make its way to these shores.

NH Libertarian Leader Charged After Alleged Racist Incident

Police were called to the Elm Street Market Basket parking lot around 2 p.m. on April 4 to deal with reports that a man hit another car in the parking lot with his car, fought with several people, and then went inside the store and continued yelling. One witness told police the suspect, later identified as Kauffman, immediately started making racist statements after the fender bender, and tried to fight people. When a bystander, who is Black and from Jamaica, walked by the incident, Kauffman reportedly directed his ire toward that man.

“[He] told him to ‘go back to Africa’ and began spouting racist slang and terms at him,” police report.

Kauffman reportedly continued to scream racist insults at people in the parking lot, according to police. Witnesses told police that Kauffman’s two young sons finally pulled their father away and dragged him inside the store.

Police soon encountered Kauffman inside the store, where he refused to give his name, and tried to pull away from officers when they attempted to detain him, according to the report.

Contacted this week, Kauffman doubled down on the incident.

“Free Staters want to end qualified immunity so that police who perform illegitimare [sic] kidnappings suffer criminal consequences,” Kauffman said via text message.

When asked what led up to the incident, Kauffman used racist logic to blame minorities.

“Low IQ schizophrenic Africans who scream at kids in parking lots should be deported from New Hampshire. We shouldn’t punish decent men who stand up to them,” Kauffman wrote.

Police reports state that the children’s mother was called to the grocery store parking lot to take the boys home. She was also informed that the Division for Children, Youth & Families would be sent a report about the incident.

Kauffman is no stranger to racism and other forms of bigotry. The 2022 Libertarian candidate for Senate was kicked off the Free State Project Board in 2023 after he refused to stop posting racist, anti-Semitic, and anti-LGBTQ content on the FSP social media accounts.

Fullerton Man Accused of Attacking Neighbors with Axe and Car

A 29-year-old man was behind bars Wednesday on charges of violating a restraining order and attacking a man and woman in Fullerton with a car and an axe.

Jeremy Salvador Castro was accused of attacking the victims about 4 p.m. Saturday at 1672 Shady Brook Drive, near Hillcrest Park and Brea Boulevard, police said.

Castro allegedly hit a woman with a car and crashed into a residence, police said. When he got out of the car the axe-wielding man attacked a man, police alleged.

Castro was ultimately subdued by neighbors and the man and woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

In October, a neighbor on Shady Brook Drive sought a restraining order against Castro alleging he had threatened the man’s 13-year-old son and vandalized an electrical panel, according to court records.

The homewoners association had gotten a restraining order against Castro earlier in 2025, the man said.

The neighbor said he got into a fight with Castro on Oct. 14 when he “came to my door armed with a machete” and threatened and spat on the man.

Castro was charged Tuesday with four counts of attempted murder, a count of inflicting injury on an elder adult, and a count of vandalism, all felonies, as well as misdemeanor counts of disobeying a court order and resisting arrest.

He faces sentencing enhancements for inflicting great bodily injury, personal use of a deadly weapon, and attempted premeditated murder.

Castro did not enter a plea at his arraignment Tuesday in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana and the hearing was rescheduled for May 26 in the North Justice Center in Fullerton.

Castro is also facing charges stemming from June 2022 in which he was accused of drawing or exhibiting a weapon and carrying a concealed gun, all misdemeanors. A landscaper reported in Oct. 21, 2021, he was working at 1720 Shadow Brook Drive when Castro pointed a gun at him, prosecutors said in court papers.

On June 6, 2022, a physician’s assistant was driving to work when he stopped for a short time in front of the defendant’s home to adjust a dashboard setting when an angry Castro told him he was blocking his driveway, prosecutors said.

The victim pulled away a short distance but noticed Castro was armed so he got out of his car with his hands up and explained he was a neighbor, prosecutors said.

The neighbor heard Castro muttering to himself so he got back in his car and drove away, prosecutors said.

On June 10, 2022, a woman walking her dog got into a conflict with the defendant when her pet urinated on a bush in front of his home, prosecutors said. When he confronted her about it she apologized and assured him it wouldn’t happen again, and he indicated he had a weapon and said it better not happen again, prosecutors said.

Pardon me, but what the hell is a piece of dangerous crap like this doing on the streets, while an innocent like me is kidnapped & rendered to a psychiatric jail for a damn wk.? Fucking Orange County sissies. Th' hell are you paying your judges for?

This Could Be It

Critical Atlantic current significantly more likely to collapse than thought

Scientists say finding is ‘very concerning’ as collapse would be catastrophic for Europe, Africa and the Americas

The Amoc is a major part of the global climate system and brings sun-warmed tropical water to Europe and the Arctic, where it cools and sinks to form a deep return current. A collapse would shift the tropical rainfall belt on which many millions of people rely to grow their food, plunge western Europe into extreme cold winters and summer droughts, and add 50-100cm to already rising sea levels around the Atlantic.

[...]

Prof Stefan Rahmstorf, at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany, said: “This is an important and very concerning result. It shows that the ‘pessimistic’ models, which show a strong weakening of the Amoc by 2100, are, unfortunately, the realistic ones, in that they agree better with observational data.”

Soon the planet won't be able to support this world of shit & pain you fools made for yourselves. Not soon enough for me, however. If only I could be there to see you all deservedly freeze &/or drown because of your foolishness. Well, I'll piss on your graves from my grave. Except there won't be any graves, just skeletons frozen in the ice. Ha ha ha from The Coast where people can live. No climate refugees needed!
