Music & Measles

I contracted measles in early 1980 when I accompanied the Angry Samoans to a gig at UC Irvine (w/ Rhino 39, I think)
got likkered up & rolled around on the floor doing the worm w/ a buncha college students, at least one of whom was significantly germier than the rest. The actual disease came right on schedule two wks. later at the Troub during a FEAR/8 Eyed Spy show. Was vomiting in the alley. (Which wasn't necessarily an idication of measles. Just this time.)

So this comes as no surprise:

Kings of Leon fans on red alert following measles outbreak

The Washington Health department issues a statement after a woman suffering from the virus attended the rock band's show last week
By the effin' way, that's the State of Washington you ignert Limeys, not to be confused w/ the filled swamp that is the District of Columbia.

Funny I got it in 1980, since the vaccine has been available since 1963. Although now that I think about it, the parental units wouldn't let me take one of the Salk vaccines.

Clearly, if my parents weren't dead I'd have to kill them.
