Today's Headline

Beats the usual Death Valley/Mojave comparison.

Hey, Mars looks like the Valley 100 years ago

Image of the Martian surface from the Navigation cameras,
located on NASA's Curiosity rover's 'head' or mast.
The rim of Gale Crater can be seen in the distance.
What the hell ...... he is the voice of the people.

I visited Death Valley in 1993, and it was unforgettable. My friends and I hiked down to Badwater Basin, the lowest point in North America (it's about 282 feet below sea level). At the bottom, there was a salt flat, pure white salt stretching for quite a span. I had a half-inch of the stuff caked on the soles of my boots.

Went to Death V. many Aprils ago. Not much salt, but still got quite grubby.
