Yet while the Republican right struggles for credibility, leaving Obama with breathing space, he and his aides ought to reconsider their scornful and high-handed attitude toward the progressive wing of their own party. They might just lose the Democratic majority next year and find themselves facing the sharp end of a series of congressional investigations or worse. If and when that happens, as Clinton could remind them, the progressives will be their only reliable allies.Note: This radical will not be allied w/ any corporate apologists.
Extra note: What did Pres. Clinton mean by this?
"It's not as strong as it was, because America's changed," he told David Gregory on "Meet the Press." "But it's as virulent as it was."It seems to us to be louder than ever, & possibly even more virulent. Not that Clinton can be expected to be objective about it, of course.

The right wing is positively giddy that the United States will not be hosting the Olympics. Seriously, has it dawned on you yet how utterly despicable these people are? I was just wonderin'.
The main goal of the GOP these days is to insure that President Obama's administration is a complete and utter failure. They want to see as many Americans as possible suffer in the next three years, thus, ensuring that they will be able to seize control of the executive branch in 2013. If the president succeeds in making life better for his countrymen and women, they fail. It's as simple as that. Mitch McConnell, to his credit, always looks quite uncomfortable when he is forced to justify policies as atrocious as those being put forward these days by that hideous party. But Cantor always has a serene, angelic smile on his face whenever he is forced to defend the morally indefensible - sort of like last week, at a Town Hall meeting when he told a woman whose mortally ill relative had been left bankrupt by her medical bills that she should rely on charity. He seemed so content with himself. Quite strange really.

I thought the Republicans would be championing the financial advantages to private business, should the Olympics go to Chicago.
But I guess actual political beliefs come second to schoolyard insults.

I said that too! Of course, Limbaugh spilled the beans right off the bat.
The Washington Post and the other corporate media don't care, as long as Obama kicks the dirty hippies to the curb and kisses corporate hiney...aka Clinton II.

The economic benefits of an Olympics are debatable at best.
Not that the right has shown any comprehension of economics over the last hundred yrs.
They are quite good at the juvenile insults though.
Cantor is one hell of a weirdo. The Wikipoodia page for him indicates that he keeps Kosher & his mother-in-law lives w/ his family. That puts him somewhere in the 19th century culturally, along w/ pre-ghost visitation Ebenezer Scrooge & the Robber Barons.
Are we going to be forced to resort to a coup to get what people voted for passed?
The Republicans made us do it!!
