Marvin Gaye: Not April Foolery, 30 Yrs. Gone

The Guardian sums M.G. (shot dead by his preacher father 30 yrs. ago today, a day short of his 45th anniv.) all up for you, & esp. for me (finding it seems like more than enough "research").

A family of loud-mouthed assholes, it would appear. Add guns to the mix, & who knows who'll end up w/ the air let out of them.
In his paranoia, Marvin, Jr. had begun to stockpile guns when he returned home from the Sexual Healing Tour. He kept a cheap machine gun in his bedroom at one point until his mother insisted that he get rid of it.

For reasons not entirely clear, Marvin gave his father a handgun, an unregistered .38-caliber Smith & Wesson, at Christmas time in 1983.

On the night of March 31, 1984, Marvin, Sr. was angered because he was unable to find a document concerning an insurance policy. He stormed around the house [2000 blk. of S. Gramercy, 90018] and yelled at Alberta, whom he blamed for losing the document.
Need we pull the rest of it? An armed society, right? Polite as fucking churchmice.
Magnum Opus:
And we'd be remiss to omit Tammi Terrell (1945-1970) if we're going to wallow in tragedy.
