More Anti-Police Posting

Vulgar obscenities!! We knew nothing of automated license plate reading (Not to mention the recording thereof, which is the actual issue.) until we saw it on the telly (in a fictional procedural, not anything allegedly informative) earlier today, topped by this on the iNternet later in the a.m.

We may have been blissfully unaware of this intrusion because we don't pollute the atmosphere (w/ hydrocarbons, at least) while killing & maiming animals, bicyclists & other humanoids from behind the wheel of a registered vehicle. Not that the busses or trains aren't filthy w/ cameras. (And filth, but that's another story.) Also what do we really care? Most of the seditious criminal activity in which we're most interested actually requires publicity, so we aren't as irked as we could be by these violations of all of our Precious American Freedoms™, & whadda you care, you're not doing anything wrong, right?
Not a joke. Apparently from a "real " P.D. Click image for story.
Seasonal tie-in: They know not only when you've been sleeping & awake, but where (even w/ whom?) you've been sleeping, driving & shopping. Just hanging at the food court, using cash instead of a debit/credit card, Google Wallet or check? Then face recognition knows you were there. Meaning a mere matter of time before we'll all be required to be barefaced in public. Then mandatory (but only if you wish to buy or sell) Mark o' The Beast Bar Coding on the (botoxed) forehead. Oh brave new world w/ such ...

I got one of them tickets near my "house" in Ohio. Seems the light turned red before I had finished zipping through the yellow.

Here's the picture, here's the fine, put the money in the mail (or internet, as the case may be).

Fuckers.

See, you're just not paranoid enough.

I thought of license plate scanners before I ever heard of them. I was actually a little surprised it took so long to make them public.

No One Is Paranoid Enough Editor:
I don't think this has anything to do w/ speeding/red light violatons. They're just recording who's where & when they're there because they can.

Alas, another great idea stolen by the man.

Actually, in Louisiana you *are* required to be bare-faced in public, under their "masking" ordinance. Only exceptions are Halloween and Mardi Gras. The ordinance is rarely enforced, it was passed to deal with the KKK (forcing them to remove their hoods and expose themselves to ridicule when they did their marches), but it's still on the books.

Many other states with a history of KKK activity similarly have such a "masking" ordinance. Hmm...
