ROFL! Public art, ya gotta love it! Up here in the Silly Cone Valley, San Jose commissioned a work that was so ugly that it sat in a warehouse for years before they finally with embarrassment installed it in a public park, where it stayed for maybe a year before the complaints about "why is there a statue of a giant dog turd in our park" got it finally secreted away again. I see that Los Angeles has no such feeling of embarassment about ugly statues, yet another reason why L.A. is special ;).
Actually found out our poop statue is still in the park, just haven't noticed it lately because it's usually surrounded by porta-potties (how appropriate!). We also have schmoozing schmoos, a genocidal wife beater on horseback, and other such joyous pieces of public art. We suck.

This is a private deal, located in a former Chevy-Buick dealership a gallery took over.
They're watching the Chrysler-Jeep dealership across the street that's also closed but hasn't been taken over by arty types.

We suck.
That's the attitude!!
Every town has a genocidal wife-beater on horseback, they're what made America what it is today!
