It appears to be a theater of some sort, quite possibly in the Los Angeles area.
Thing Editor:Good guess! It might well have been a theater 50 or 60 yrs. ago. Currently it's half a Harry Potter swag shop (?) & half an empty storefront, & indeed in Los Angeles proper. (As if we ever leave.)
