Electric cars are vaporware and are a marketing ploy by the auto industry in order to sell more "regular" cars. The market share of electric cars is small compared to the market share of SUVs, pickups and crossovers. In the year 2018 for every new battery-electric powered vehicle on the worlds roads the were 30 new Suvs/pickups. Of course the real unmentionable problem is that relying on a high speed, four wheeled, 3000 lb, mostly single occupant, steel box as the main way of everyday locomotion, whatever the fuel source, is a patently suicidal idea and will probably be the death of us all.
