Chickenshit.As Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein contemplates a 2018 bid for reelection, a new poll has found that 50% of California’s likely voters think she shouldn’t run again.
Just 43% of likely voters support Feinstein running for a sixth term, according to a Public Policy Institute of California poll released Wednesday. The results are similar among all California adults, not just likely voters, with 46% saying she should not run for another term and 41% saying she should run.
Feinstein, 84, has come under increased pressure from members of California’s left, many of whom were infuriated when earlier this month she called for “patience” with President Trump and refused to back demands for his impeachment.
And while her wealthy rent-seeking parasite husband's money* & a pampered Senatorial existence may have kept her in good shape until now, she is simply too many generations behind the contemporary world.

Career Education Corporation (CECO) is a for-profit postsecondary higher education provider with campus-based and online programs, headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois. The company's schools offer associate, bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and certificate programs in career-focused disciplines.
The organization will close most of its 50 campuses in the United States as the corporation downsizes to two primarily online brands: American InterContinental University and Colorado Technical University.
In 2016, Career Education Corporation had about 43,000 students. However, approximately 9,400 students came from schools that are shutting down. According to a 2014 US Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions report, 48% of Career Education's programs would have failed or been at risk of failing the US Department of Education's new "gainful employment" standards.

Realizing that the day’s workflow is irrevocably disrupted, Fat Controller decides that Henry must be punished— for life. “We shall take away your rails, and leave you here for always and always,” he tells Henry. As Henry’s face contorts into anguish and the background music toots a series of Oompa Loompa faux-glum flourishes, railway employees build a brick prison around Henry, leaving only half of his face visible. His train friends pass by: one snubs him, and another whistles hello. Henry has no steam left to whistle back. He spends his days alone, soot-streaked, wondering if he’ll ever be allowed to go back to work. The last line of the segment is the narrator saying, “I think he deserved his punishment, don’t you?” In the U.S. version, this voice-over is tweaked so that Henry’s fate seems temporary. But the original version is still on YouTube, and it’s comically bleak. As one commenter writes, “What moral lesson are kids supposed to learn from this? Do as you’re told or you will be entombed forever in the darkness to die?”

This D.P.R.K.-missile-hitting-Japan-by-accident scenario hadn't occurred to me.
Sounds like fun, or at least one hell of an opportunity for schadenfreude, doesn't it?It is impossible to know if the individuals leading North Korea’s nuclear weapons program have the same degree of confidence in their technology and their personnel. But it is not hard to believe they feel the same urgent need to prove North Korea has a useable nuclear weapon, especially in the face of continuing US doubts. China’s expansive land mass allowed its leaders to conduct their test in a way that only put their own people at risk. But tiny North Korea must send its nuclear-armed missile out into the Pacific Ocean on a trajectory that would fly over Japan. If a failed North Korean test were to impact Japan it could precipitate a large-scale war in North-East Asia that could kill a million people on the first day.

President Donald Trump is not "fit to serve as president," American voters say 56 - 42 percent, and voters disapprove 57 - 36 percent of the job he is doing as president, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released today.[Quinnipiac U. Poll]
There are deep party, gender and racial divisions on whether President Trump is fit to serve, the independent Quinnipiac University Poll finds:
Trump is not fit, Democrats say 94 - 5 percent and independent voters say 57 - 40 percent. Republicans say 84 - 14 percent that he is fit.
Men are divided 49 - 49 percent, as women say 63 - 35 percent he is not fit.
White voters are divided as 50 percent say he is fit and 48 percent say he is not fit. Trump is not fit, black voters say 94 - 4 percent and Hispanic voters say 60 - 40 percent.
American voters disapprove 62 - 32 percent of the way President Trump is handling race relations. Disapproval is 55 - 39 percent among white voters, 95 - 3 percent among black voters and 66 - 28 percent among Hispanic voters. President Trump is doing more to divide the country than to unite the country, American voters say 60 - 35 percent.
The anti-Twitter sentiment remains high as voters say 69 - 26 percent that Trump should stop tweeting. No party, gender, education, age or racial group wants to follow the Tweeter-in- Chief. Voters say 51 - 27 percent they are embarrassed to have Trump as president.
"There is no upside. With an approval rating rating frozen in the mid-thirties, his character and judgement questioned, President Donald Trump must confront the harsh fact that the majority of American voters feel he is simply unfit to serve in the highest office in the land," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.
"A divider, responsible for the deepening chasm of racial discord. That is the inescapable characterization of President Trump from voters who see race relations deteriorating on his watch.
"Weary and wary of the Twitter-happy president's blizzard of provocative tweets, voters say dump the device for good."
American voter opinions of most Trump qualities remain low:
59 - 37 percent that he is not honest;
60 - 38 percent that he does not have good leadership skills;
56 - 42 percent that he does not care about average Americans;
67 - 30 percent that he is not level headed;
61 - 37 percent that he is a strong person;
55 - 42 percent that he is intelligent;
61 - 36 percent that he does not share their values.

I suppose it would take someone very gender-confused to marry Ivanova.Democratic opposition research group American Bridge first spotted the error, which Wired then reported first.
"Kushner can't even fill out the most basic paperwork without screwing it up, so it's a mystery why anyone thinks he's somehow going to bring peace to the Middle East," Brad Bainum, a spokesperson for the group, told Wired about the mistake. "Would anyone but the president's son-in-law still have a West Wing job after repeated disclosure errors and a botched a security clearance form?"
Kushner, who has a vast portfolio of issues at the White House, has had to amend his federal security clearance forms multiple times to include meetings with foreign contacts.
He told congressional investigators that the mistakes have been due to a “miscommunication” with his assistant.
Prior to 2009, his New Jersey voter registration noted his gender as “unknown.”

"Trump's Puerto Rico Tweets Prove That Wall Street Is Deep In His Head"
by

But how far up his ass is his head?
*Impressionable, as in total chump.
Mind? Who are you trying to kid?PresidentDonald Trump's first priority when it comes to Puerto Rico is reminding it of all the debt it owes Wall Street.
This is rich, considering how much Trump loves debt and bankruptcy.
Puerto Rico's debt problems have a long history involving several government missteps.Reading tweets fromPresidentDonald Trump has become less an exercise in policy and more a glimpse at what or who is driving the information the impressionable president is taking in.*
That is how we know, based on three tweets on Monday evening about Puerto Rico, that Wall Street owns Trump right now.
Here are the tweets, in case you missed them:
"Texas & Florida are doing great but Puerto Rico, which was already suffering from broken infrastructure & massive debt, is in deep trouble.
"It's old electrical grid, which was in terrible shape, was devastated. Much of the Island was destroyed, with billions of dollars ... owed to Wall Street and the banks which, sadly, must be dealt with. Food, water and medical are top priorities — and doing well. #FEMA"
You'll notice the "top priorities" were mentioned only afterthe presidentpointed out Puerto Rico's massive debt, which is owned by a bunch of investors — especially the powerful hedge funds Trump bashed during his campaign.
There are some other non-debt problems Puerto Rico is facing thatthe presidentdidn't mention:Trump opted not to tweet about those disastrous humanitarian and economic situations, but the hedge funds, jockeying for a piece of the $70 billion in debt the territory owes, got a shout-out. It seems Wall Street's priorities are at the top of
- Puerto Rico's agriculture secretary, Carlos Flores Ortega, says Hurricane Maria destroyed as much as 80% of the territory's crop value.
- The Fitch research group BMI estimates the country's gross domestic product will take a 3.5% hit in 2017 and a 2.1% hit in 2018.
- The catastrophe-modeling firm AIR Worldwide estimates up to $85 billion in insured damage, to say nothing of uninsured damage.
the president's mind right now.

Is there something in the D.S.M. that explains these bizarre, made-of-whole-cloth "spiritual" delusions?“American boys play football,” he said, “they don’t play soccer.”
Daubenmire returned to the topic during his webcast today, suggesting that there is an effort to encourage young boys to play soccer in order to undermine the institution of family and insisting that people who can’t see this obvious fact are simply blind to the spiritual forces at work.
Daubenmire said that during his coaching years, he routinely saw “little 5 and 6-year-old boys drug off over to the soccer field and their daddies didn’t even know what soccer was, the daddies couldn’t talk to their sons about, ‘Oh yeah, back when I played soccer’ and then the boys could never talk to their dads about when they played football because they took them all and stuck them over in soccer.”
“Why do we have soccer fields everywhere?” he asked. “Because it takes a man to play football and mommies don’t like seeing their little boys get knocked down, so mommies put them into soccer where they get little knee pads and they don’t really hurt each other.” “What does grandpa get to do on Saturday morning?” Daubenmire continued. “Go watch my grandson play football? No. He’s a penguin, he’s running around hitting balls with his head. I can’t relate to him playing soccer. But I can go to a football game and watch him get knocked on his butt, be able to tell him after the game, ‘You know, that happened to me back when I was playing too and let me tell you what to do.’ But I can’t help him with soccer.” “Do you guys think I’m crazy?” he asked. “I don’t care. I’m telling you [the truth.]”

Stunning admission? Why do you think all the grifters, loons & fascist wanna-bes came to work for Trump? And why did Chumpy hire them? Because he's an easily manipulable moron. Feature, not bug!But making that argument — that Trump was duped — also means arguing that he is capable of being duped, and apparently rather easily in this case. Inherent in Bannon's argument is the idea that Trump either isn't discerning enough to make that endorsement decision for himself, or at least that he doesn't do enough homework.
Bannon is basically confirming everything aides have said privately about how unsophisticated Trump is in consuming information. This is the president of the United States, and Bannon is talking about him as if he's still a total political novice — a weather vane, even.
That's a pretty stunning admission coming from one of the people who has worked closest with Trump.

*In the Land of The Limeys, such are idiomized as "Little Hitlers". Seems right.
There, I spoke to an extremely nice lady who basically told me that a lot of flight attendants are crazy.
This was not an answer I expected from the Customer Relations department of the airline. I was genuinely amazed at the honesty. Imagine if you called a washing machine company to complain about their product and the person at the other end said, "Yeah, a lot of our washers are junk."
I am not identifying the airline because this woman was so honest with me that I don't want to get her into any trouble. She was on the phone with me for at least fifteen minutes and it got to the point where she was complaining to me about power-mad flight attendants and all the complaints about them that come to her. And I want to emphasize here that neither of us were talking about all flight attendants or most flight attendants. We were talking about a tiny but still unacceptable percentage.
The Customer Relations lady was totally with me and clearly frustrated. She said — and this is a quote — "When I fly now, I just do whatever they say, even when I know it's wrong because you never know what's going to set some of them off. If they somehow get it into their heads that you're a threat to the flight, you're in for a lot of trouble."
This is a woman who works for this airline. She is in a position to receive and deal with complaints about flight attendants who misbehave. And she is afraid of the occasional flight attendant on that airline. She also told me that recently, they had two incidents where flight attendants ejected pilots' wives.
*In the Land of The Limeys, such are idiomized as "Little Hitlers". Seems right.
