(Concrete) River Now Actually
Running Through It

For those who don't know, the Rio de Los Angeles ordinarily just keeps oozin' along in a shallow trench maybe two ft. wide (less'n a meter) & a ft. deep (even less'r'n a meter) gouged in the bottom of its concrete bed.
Friday’s storm turned the usually placid L.A. River into a torrent. Luis Lopez shot this video in Atwater Village as the water gushed past the Red Car pylons near the Glendale Hyperion bridge.

Now that's what I'd like to see them filming all those stupid '80s L.A. car chases in.

Picky Trivia Editor:
"'80s?" There's an Adam-12 episode w/ a river chase from the early '70s.

Submarine races?

Nah. They'd probably use the Miami Vice cigarette boats.
