The colonel's record of government job-holding certainly indicates he likes to sit around & accept tax-payer handouts, while going into debt. Shouldn't Colonel Freniere have known better than to let his children mooch their education from him? You can not encourage them to expect handouts all their lives; the moochers must be thrown out of the nest the minute it's legal to do so.After a few years working for McChrystal, Freniere retired in 2006. Finding work was hard. Debts amassed during his career — some personal, others relating to his two children in college — meant that his $40,000 annual pension from the Air Force didn’t make ends meet.
“His struggle to find a job after retiring from the Air Force collided with the end of his marriage nearly two years ago,” Zauzmer reports, and “he took up a nomadic existence.” Freniere says that dyslexia and attention deficit disorder make his six hours of daily job searching on public library computers both painstaking and slow. He hasn’t even been able to find janitorial work.
What say we motivate this moocher a bit by cutting off his retirement, as Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul has so generously suggested we do for the long-term unemployed? Really, we're doing him a disservice by giving him money. If he can't afford to eat, he'll be able to spend eight or ten hrs. a day looking for work on those free (My Gawd, they just do not stop taking, do they?) public library computers.
So why the whining? He made bad choices & is being punished for them. Personal accountability & responsibility at their purest: Choose correctly or starve/freeze in your van!! (Suck it up! Put on your big-boy pants!) All he had to do was get a real job that paid a living wage, & then wisely invest (because the stock market is headed to 36,000, y'know) rather than suck at the government teat all his life & expect Big Brother to take care of him after he can't kill for peace any longer.
Last clue: Do not fight (or murder by remote control & bureaucracy, officer-style) for a nation that won't provide shit for its non-wealthy citizens (or for the thousands upon thousands of homeless veterans detailed at the end of the T.P. item) whose military defends the interests of the multi-national fossil fuel industry rather than insuring the safety of these United Snakes. Patriotism my fucking ass.
Few things anger me more than people who make the system what it is & then bitch whine & moan when they, special little snowflakes that they are, are ground up & spat out like everyone else, & now this whining son-of-a-bitch has me worked to the point that I hope he freezes to death. And screw Think Progress for giving this baby-killer attention in a pathetically transparent effort to appear as if T.P. doesn't hate America & gives a crap about its warrior caste. Spineless liberals.
P. fucking S.: How many Afghan children are dead as a result of this desk jockey &/or his boss McChrystal authorizing? Their parents won't be going into debt for their college educations, right? Is there no more shame?
And speaking of shame, didn't even have a chance to go on about his divorce. Bad morally, bad economically. And shameful.

I also love it when a cop gets caught stealing more than his regular 10% and has to go to big-boy prison.
You just KNOW that's going to be a very long couple o'years for that motherfucker - Alanis would think about writing a song about it...
