Someone typed
some crap for Smithsonian.com to illustrate a
photo we took recently.
Ever since the late 1960s, when McDonald’s abandoned its iconic, modernist-inspired golden-arched buildings in favor of a separate, golden-arched sign and a decidedly less exciting mansard-roofed structure, it has been rare to mention the words “McDonald’s” and “architecture” in the same sentence.
Then it's
McModernism.
McDonald’s recently opened up location number 34,492 – it’s first in Vietnam, the 116th country to serve up the franchise’s famous French fries. In honor of the occasion, The Guardian took a broad look at McDonald’s McInfluence around the world.
58,000 dead, yada wounded/damaged for life, just to make Vietnam safe for Mickey D's. Overkill. As is this:

I just realized that it has been 50 years ago that I first ate at a McDonald's.
$0.19 for the burger.
$0.10 for the Coke.
$0.05 for the fries.
Total $0.29.
I was pissed because the local run down snack shack by the school was $0.20 for a little more burger and a little more fries (the fries were always cold, they didn't have heat lamps.) The burger at the snack shack tasted better.
