For Once They Weren't Kidding

This sort of thing has been threatened often enough, but this is the first time we've seen it happen in many yrs. of cable tee vee consumption.
We had no idea the Smithsonian Channel had anything to do w/ CBS, & judging from the "To Be Announced" & that channel 420 (Ha ha, fuck you.) is now narrowcasting in Standard Definition rather than High Def, we suspect we'll never see the Smithsonian Channel again, just as Current TV disappeared from the TWC line-up the instant it was sold to Al-Jazeera. (Apparently they'll use any excuse to drop channels that aren't terribly popular w/ the mass sheep audience.)
Local "independent" KCAL (Channel 9) is also a CBS station (because one corporation owning two broadcast stations in the same market is not in any way, shape or form a media monopoly or duopoly or in any way bad for the region at all) & has also been removed from the line-up.
(We really wanted to see those Manson pix too!) Oh wait, no problem, we get a perfect OTA signal from both the CBS stations. (Before the digital switch we couldn't have in this location.) Extra lucky for TWC as tonight's Dodger game is on KCAL, & there would have been hell to pay if it were denied us. Hell!

It also appears that the Showtime channels are not available. (Good luck returning the money the Showtime subscribers have already shelled out for nothing, by the way.) And it's all revealed as the usual fucking bullshit when one moves up the dial & sees that TWC hasn't removed the CBS Sports Network from the line-up. (CBS Sports Network is currently showing 90 fucking mins. of PGA Championship Highlights. From 1975 & 1980, both of which were won by Jack Nicklaus. Not that we knew that, but it's revealed by the onscreen TVGuide. How stupid can a corporation be? We would've watched if they hadn't told us who the winner was.)

We'd like to invite both parties to the dispute to go fuck themselves w/ splintery broomsticks until they produce something worth watching. Or bleed to death. Guess which is more likely.
