Loot, Shoot & Wail:
London, Also Birmingham & Liverpool

"Unrest" has spread to Birmingham & Liverpool. The lastmost recent (Never say last!) large scale unrest in L.A. didn't happen until the oinkers who beat Rodney King were acquitted; England's brave youth didn't wait for a bullshit trial, they got to work ASAP.And while we were too busy paying attention to our backyard in '92 to remember if similar resistance occurred in other American cities, Britain's youth are to be commended for raising the stakes across their nation.

So, I should take this to mean you are in support of the anarchists? I just don't cotton to riots that hurt people that did no wrong. Let them go after the establishment and I am all for it.

Sweeping Generalizations & Nihilism Editor:

Not sure they are exactly anarchists. Interesting that the minute the "social order" breaks down (I.e., police are not available to stop the liberation of stuff. Thin line, huh?) people go mad for free plastic junk & clothing.

But we are impressed that some police facilities have been burned. Wasn't nearly enough of that locally in '92.

We don't approve of people's residences being destroyed just because they live above a business, but our approval (or not) doesn't make much difference.

"Collateral damage" & "break eggs/omelet" are popular excuses when the military goes to work, why shouldn't they apply here? After all, no one in an alleged democracy is "innocent."

And no property or business owner is innocent, no matter the social-economic system.

I understand the underlying premise of police brutality, but as usual..the folks that just want to tear shit up give the whole group a bad name.

As for 92, that one also took out a lot of small businesses and hurt a lot of innocent people as well. Innocent meaning people that might also believe as the protesters that the police are thugs and are out of control.

I am all for the attacks on govt facilities..Power to the people and all that. ;-)
