Conservative Movement (No Poop Jokes, Damnit!!)

In our recent forays into the sad world of Right Wing Rant Radio, we've noticed many references to the "conservative movement," as in: "What's McCain done for the conservative movement?" or "McCain hasn't helped conservativism any." On the other hand (warts) "left" radio (other than Pacifica, which is just too serious for us) is not condemning anyone for being untrue to the "movement" or the like, though of course the two still-standing Senators are at least semi-liberal, if far from "progressive" or actually "left," in the sense of all other semi-democratic industrialized nations. But it would be awfully tough for RWRR hosts to come right out & ask, "What's McCain done lately to help corporations, increase the wealth of the wealthy, impose a fascist theocracy, & cater to the whims of paranoid pantswetters who sense a Muslim sleeper under every bed?" Other than his promise to stay in Iraq for 100 yrs. if that's what it takes, of course. So the reference is merely to "the movement," not its goals.
