Not Having Rent Money To Be A Crime

L.A. City Council's Sadist Caucus (which may consist only of running-for-mayor member Joe Buscaino) is about to turn its wrath on the least of us again.

Councilman Joe Buscaino, who is running for mayor partly on an agenda to enforce the city’s anti-camping laws, invoked a rarely used rule last Wednesday to have the council pull the draft ordinance from committee.

Opponents of the motion said it would criminalize homelessness.

“This is a criminalization ordinance that leaves gaping holes of discretion for city departments and law enforcement. It’s written so broadly that it becomes impossible to comply with purposely vague language defining where you can exist,” the Los Angeles Community Action Network wrote on Twitter.
