it should probably be pointed out that originally, military drones were only used for surveillance. Until they proved to be somewhat reliable, then they strapped ordnance to that sucker, because why not?
Geeks have been installing cameras in toy rockets and R/C planes for years.

Heeyyy, no picking on the innocent or ignorant. We admitted it was "new to us."
What's new is the real time link to the drone, uh, pardon me, radio controlled model aircraft.
Back in the bad old days you had to wait for your film to be developed.
