[T]he herd ... has a mountain top view of Azusa, Rancho Cucamonga, Duarte and other eastern San Gabriel suburbs.Bighorns, yet.
A story of someone who went counting sheep, but didn't see any & froze to death in the wind. Photo by someone who spotted some elsewhere.

They didn't freeze to death.
Disappoint me like that.
I'm thinking the basic .270/7mm round is pretty much perfect for these doods. And while you're going to have to boil the bottom half for a long time to make it edible, it's going to be yummy, and that top strap is going to take to the grill hot and fast, or traditionally on skewers over open coals in what we barbarians call shish-ka-bobs with some hunks of onion and tomato and pepper and once again, in a fold of flatbread it's going to be good.
The good news is people freak when you consider killing cows, less so with pigs (yummy) and even more so with sheep, goats or deer. The theory seems to be that the appropriateness of killing them is inversely proportional to their presence in the Safeway butcher shop...

Hah! Didn't realize this'd be mikey bait until we "published" it, but we thought "targets" when we saw the photo again & figured there'd be advice forthcoming. The "kill all you want, but eat all you kill" cooking suggestions are an unpredicted bonus, & we're all over the Huntin', Cookin' & Eatin' w/ mikey tee vee concept, makin' some calls yada.
[Mmmm ... lamb chops ...]
Sprouts has feral boar (ground and sausage). That was good.
