No Surprise, More Lies

I blame MSNBC & Google for the embed button on the MSNBC site not working (It works for Wonkette, WHY NOT HERE?) but Lawrence O'Donnell destroyed a cop-worshipping WaPo hack for his fucking lies about the lying testimony of an anonymous asshole in the grand jury proceedings. Sickening. Have you no shame, hack?

Why doesn't the newly-minted WaPo list author Cassell's tenure as a law clerk for Antonin Scalia in his byline?

And why doesn't Judge Cassells quote his former employer in his majority ruling in 1992?

"It is not the grand jury’s function ‘to inquire upon what foundation the charge may be denied,’ or otherwise to try the suspect’s defenses, but only to examine ‘upon what foundation the charge is made’ by the prosecutor.

"As a consequence, never in this country nor in England has the suspect under investigation by the grand jury ever been thought to have a right to testify.

"(Respublica v. Shaffer, 1 Dall. 236 (O. T. Phila. 1788); see also F. Wharton, Criminal Pleading and Practice § 360, pp. 248-249 (8th ed. 1880)."

By taking Darren Wilson to the grand jury to let Wilson talk to the jurors without being cross-examined by anyone, Prosecutor McCulloch did a lot more than he should for Darren Wilson.

McCulloch also opened the door to a federal investigation of the kangaroo court that he obviously rigged in St. Louis County, as he did in the 2000 killing of two blacks in a fast food drive-through.
