Does Like Animals Editor: Unlike the political horse race there's no real world effect w/ sports. One may get semi-steamed up but (other than the occasional riot, soccer murder or soccer war) it's merely another of telebision/society/the Infernet's many subsets/distractions. Plus choosing one's tribe (&/or enemies) irrationally is fun.
Not to deny a stadium filled w/ 40-50,000+ weasels all focused on one event (not a song or whatnot that might be of interest to 50,000 punters in a big venue but relatively tiny human efforts, in an instant or two yada) & most of them hootin' & hollerin' & oh sheesh, now I'm doing this. Anyway, if you haven't been to such & you ever get a chance, go. Can even be frightening, if you think "rallies" & so on.

I still find it hilarious that you are a sports fan.
