Wing-Nut To Watch

Run down the list here ...

Psychotic-looking photo? ✔
Goofy-ass name ... ✔
Ashley Stinnett - Ashley Courtland Stinnett has been labeled as America’s “up and coming” voice of conservatism. Born and raised in West Virginia, Ashley grew up in theatre and the arts. While attending Marshall University, Ashley focused his attention on acting and modeling, landing various jobs on the East Coast.
Types for Tucker Carlson at The Daily Caller ... ✔

Inane blather ... ✔
Since April of last year, mainstream media outlets have portrayed the “Tea Party” movement as nothing more than a fringe element of so-called disenfranchised white voters. Of course, the majority of Americans realize this false label is nothing more than unfounded vitriol aimed at rallying an otherwise regressive liberal voting bloc.

Paul’s primary victory not only proved that establishment Republicans should be careful, but that grassroots campaigns can still work in the day and age of 24 hour news cycles coupled with corrupt liberal news bias.

The kind of political activism that carried Paul to victory is the nucleus of the Tea Party, which the mainstream media fails to recognize.

However, credit has to be given to Paul and his internal network which centered heavily around online fundraising, get-out-the-vote effort and an energized populous [sic] angered at the idea that the federal government has become too over-reaching in its total control of individual lives.
Types the exact opposite of what he means? ✔
Uses awkward & Freudian imagery? ✔
Predictably, some analysts will argue the Grayson campaign imploded down the final stretch, failing to ignore the strength of Paul’s staff and ground attack.
Lives in a clichéd fantasy world ... ✔
In the interim, established candidates across America are feeling a strain like never before, because this is a different kind of election cycle this year.

2010 is a year in which the average voter will turn on the most recognizable name on the ballot, not because it is a new-found fad, but because it is their right.

And, over the next few weeks, Paul will become a national symbol for the Tea Party movement much like his father was a reflection of anti-establishment during the 2008 presidential election-cycle.

This newfound excitement, along with a deeply rooted distaste for incumbency, could be just enough to turn the usual suspects in Washington upside down.
IT COULD HAPPEN!
Ashley Stinnett lives in West Virginia, where he serves as an adjunct college instructor, writer, media and public relations consultant, public speaker, volunteer for various conservative organizations, and a civilian recruiter for the NRA. He is registered with the Associated Press, the National Conference of Editorial Writers and is a nationally syndicated columnist with The North Star National.
Editor's Note: Tucker Carlson. Really. We doubt anything this lame would have been printed in the student newspaper at whatever boarding school Mumsy shipped you to. Bad enough as is, but to publish this fact-free (Well, we'll grant that the Medicare-profiting doctor did win the election.) puff-piece following candidate Paul's recent statements is almost criminal in the embarrassment it'll cause poor Ashley.

In West Virginia, this kid would be considered as gay as a French tangerine.

Hey come on now, the way things are going for Randle so far Ashley's right about that, too.

Symbolic Editor Types:

We didn't want to say anything about Ashley's possible orientation. (OK, we left it for others to draw possible conclusions.) He'd probably qualify for "French tangerine" status anywhere, not that there's anything wrong w/, etc.

Ashley's right about that, too.

Alright, credit where due.

Let's see... let me make sure I have this right.

If you are right of center and play the ad hominem card, you are mean-spirited, angry, hateful (or is it hate-filled?) and racist. Also, resorting to an ad hominem attack means you don't have the intelligence to frame a cogent argument.

On the other hand, being left of center means the ad hominem label does not apply. Instead, such musings are seen as the result of an edgy, ennui-fueled, creative temperament. People judged as ignorant are summarily dealt with in a manner befitting their station relative to your considerable contempt.

Note: the poster is the black sheep of a large family of progressives and understands said temperament very well.

What the black sheep fails to understand in its 'this thing - that thing' argumentation is that the thing that is your thing HAS FUCKING FAILED.

And yet you continue with the "It's no fair, blah, blah, blah, while ignoring the fact that the people you vote for FCUKED the world to hell.

So fuck off with your whiney black sheep self.

Ah, look, another echo-chamber passing itself off as a real blog. How many is that just this week?

You just proved my point, Thunda. Instead of refuting or even trying to make a point, it's straight to ALL CAPS dismissal, worthy of a two-year old.

Since you mentioned it, where did I ever allude to fairness? Only Lefties whine about fairrrrrrrness (say the word correctly, now). As a Libertarian, I understand that the world ain't fair, the playing field is always tilted and the biggest thieves use fountain pens (a Guthrie allusion) and law books.

Hell, I'm just an observer of the human condition, a Jane Goodall of the body politic. As I get older, I wonder why some people with the same education (mine is liberal arts all the way, man!), the same opportunities and the same basic cultural experiences grow up polar opposites.

As for being from West Virginia, isn't that great scion of the American Progressives, Robert Byrd, from there? I'm sure being a West Virginian kid with a funny name and questionable political credentials is nearly as bad as being a former... Klansman.

By the way, lest you play the race card on me, my great grandfather was murdered by the Klan in the early 1900s.

Lest I tilt your fragile windmills, just request that I be gone and... pfffft I'm out of here. You kids can then play and self-aggrandize in peace.

No, right-wingers whine about the travails of rich white people all the time.

As a Libertarian...

Lolz.

Preemptive victim card played! Nifty.

Instead of refuting or even trying to make a point,

in thunder's defense, you didn't make any point other than "teh Left does it too" about the issue of ad hominem attacks which had nothing to do with the original post. which ifttdgy responded to, and quite cogently I thought.

y'see, right wing trolls have crawled about since USEnet days, and most people have learned there is little to be gained in "addressing my post, libs!" as one famous crawler liked to post at a humor site.

Which makes me out to be a right idiot for trying to do so with this one.

Meanwhile, why don't you either take it up with your fambly, or weigh in on one of the URAS cartoons scattered throughout this Echo Chamber?

Damn, children! I go off to the (very chilly) UK for a few days and come back to this veritable shower of anything but love!

I stumbled onto this blog a while back and was intrigued by some of the host's interesting musings. Anyway, I commented sincerely, but apparently any dialogue other than the prevailing effluvium isn't acceptable. I don't think that meets the definition of trolling, but who's keeping score, right?

I noticed your viewer count, apparently posted to entice advertisers. However, understand that's only half the picture. No agency or advertiser wants to lose clients or customers because of the content or tone.

There's a middle ground between staying be pure to your ideals or "selling out" and make money. There are a few blogs out there that successfully do that.

Your content is definitely there.

You kids have fun. Feel free to e-mail any insults, especially if they contain any creative pejoratives my g-mail account. I'll keep reading but won't waste my time with comments.

PS: You guys need to get out more. Politics in the UK is fun right now, what with the coalition government and all.
