The Right Wing Mind at Work & Play

You may have seen something somewhere concerning the recent study indicating that "conservatives" were more likely to jump & otherwise react adversely when scared. (Probably a result of their being beaten when they were puppies. There must be some rational explanation for religious belief & low-grade fascism.) You've probably seen evidence of this phenomenon in some show biz figures. The one that comes most to mind is Dennis Miller, the putz from Pittsburgh who had a semi-amusing career as a reciter of semi-arcane references to older films & whatever other cultural references he could dig up.
Following 11 September 2001, however, Mr. Miller had several shit-fits, & realized that there were scary men from the Mid-East who were coming to get him, his family, you, & every SUV & other status symbol that Mr. Miller owns. The reaction to this realization is usually along the lines of : "Kill them there before they kill us here!" "We've got to be tough & fight," & so on. It's all about screaming at the top of your lungs & waving your big stick at anyone not involved or too weak to defend themselves.
So when Mr. Miller made an appearance on The Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno last wk., it was pretty obvious he'd be supporting Sen. McCain over Senator Obama. Dennis's reasoning? "He gave us five-&-a-half yrs., I'll give him four." Well alright. We're convinced. One thing though. Take a peep at the stories we've referenced below. See if you still think McCain's allowing himself to be shot down & getting captured is some sort of noble act, or just stupidity. And even if it is noble, how does it qualify anyone for the presidency? Should that office be reserved for those unfortunate enough to be captured during the non-stop wars of the McCain future?
P. S.: Where does Sarah Palin fit into this, by the way? She gave us a wink, we'll give her four yrs.?
