Naked City was kind of hit or miss...stuff with Eye was really fun, but Bill Frisell's guitar usually has some airy chorus effect that makes it sound weightless instead of destructive. This sticks with the shorter and more aggressive stuff but it still sounds a little more, um, wealthy than it should.
Some varieties of Masada can be pretty noisy too. Masada's main interest to me is the use of Jewish scales in an Ornette sorta format: theme, free play, end with theme. Works pretty well.

<sarc>We bow before your cultural whatnot.</sarc> Hell, we had to read it somewhere, & he didn't know about it.
(Almost completely unfamiliar w/ J.Z.'s work, actually, as we were watching telebision during most of the '80s & all of the '90s.)
We have discussed some reaction to his stuff.
You may like the Ornette demolition.

Less than ten notes & we were sold.
Also sold on the lengths; no time/attention span for long wailing. Plus, we're learning Romanian.
*Like Wheel of Fortune!
