AOL to Buy The Huffington Post in $315 Million Deal
The Huffington Post, which began in 2005 with a meager $1 million investment and has grown into one of the most heavily visited news Web sites in the country, is being acquired by AOL in a deal that creates an unlikely pairing of two online media giants. The two companies completed the sale Sunday evening and were expected to announce the deal Monday morning. The deal will allow AOL to greatly expand its news gathering and original content creation, areas that its chief executive, Tim Armstrong, views as vital to reversing a decade-long decline.
This of course means that parasites like Huffington (Newt's BFF, see?)
Two on the left: no idea. Then: Arianna, Newt, Callista, Barbara Walters. GUNS NOT CAMERAS!! |

You really think Breitbart will make millions off of this deal? Please say you're just being hyperbolic.
Also, I would like to read a week or two of his outraged squeaking about not making a red cent of the idea that was "stolen" from him.
I have to say, though, for a traditional fence-sitter like AOL, attaching itself to a big LIEbrul brand-name like HuffPo should be seen as a victory for us of Teh Left. Yes, in between the moonbattery, the space given to wingnuts, and the click-whoring emphasis of the site overall, HuffPo is not actually such a wonderful thing from the perspective of serious liberals. But still: most media outfits would be very nervous about the image of this acquisition. The RWNM is going to go right up to 11 on this one, count on it.
Believe The Hype! Editor Admits:
We have no idea what BB's actual deal is. Could be anything, but expect whining or triumphalism.
I see by your later post that my fears were for naught. Also my wishes, sadly.
I didn't know he had "cashed out" when he left, back when. Wonder how much that was.
Ad hominem Editor Adds:
We were relieved too. Sometimes the hysteria carries us away.
Our unfounded-in-fact-but-fun suspicion: He got more than he deserved when he did cash out, because they wanted him gone. Out of the office, out of their lives!
