STORMWATCH 2018!!1!

First rain in human memory (to judge from the weather weasels) locally; naturally the power went out, 'though it returned just as I got up & headed to the arms of Morpheus (little else to do here when the power is out & the sun isn't). Good thing it came back so soon; it can take as many as four to five hrs. if a vault has flooded. Fortunately I'd already sent tomorrow's Blog Round-Up; could have been trouble. (Trouble for someone else; I'd have been sawing wood.)

A several-hr. outage also would have meant my missing the Cracker Bowl, which E.S.P.N. is on like flies on shit, white on rice & wrinkles on a cheap suit. For multi-tasking short-attention span types there are two big boxes on the game & two smaller ones on the coaches (Goal Line); the game surrounded by five boxes of on-air personalities blathering (ESPNU); a room containing several blathering coaches (ESPNEWS); Georgia & 'Bama homers a-blather (ESPN2); the game itself (ESPN); something called the Finebaum Film Room on the ESPN S.E.C. Channel, &, best option but sadly in standard definition, Sounds of the Game, on ESPN Classic, the only blathering there being from the stadium announcer, the officials, the bands & the crowd. If they'd save me the trouble of muting the commercials they'd really be onto something.
