Cretin & Cretiner

Sometimes this crap just writes itself.

Pence and Santorum: Thought Leaders

But we still have to beat it into Internet legibility via the keyboard. We were almost lazy enough to copy the headline & leave it at that, but as we're planning on spending the wknd. curled in a fetal position, clutching a stuffed animal from our childhood (Poor little Barfy, run over by a car as we watched.) & whimpering, we thought we'd leave a couple of items.

No point even starting w/ Santorum. Rick hasn't had a thought of his own since some time before Vatican II, w/ the possible exception of "Repeal Vatican II, & Health Care Reform!"

Pence, though, is fresh moron for the grinder. Thought leader? Let's see:
As for the constitutionality question, and the fact that Pence has voted for self-executing rules several times, I also enjoyed this exchange:
The DC: It's an issue of the magnitude of the legislation?

MP: I think that's part of it.
I see. The constitutionality of a procedural rule in the House is dependent on whether Mike Pence things the rule is being applied to a "big" bill or not.

Remember, this guy not only went to law school, but is a top member of the Republican leadership and -- I kid you not -- someone openly considering a presidential campaign.
From Typo King Yglesias, actuality.
For an example of what I’m talking about with regards to dumb-as-a-post Representative Mike Pence, watch his answer to the question of what kind of compromise he would propose for health reform:
“Well, look, you know, I was, uh, yeah, yeah, look, uh”
More from Matt.
The larger issue, however, is that Mike Pence is a moron, and any movement that would hold the guy up as a hero is bankrupt. You can see my colleague Amanda Terkel for more of the specifics on this, but I would refer you to this post from September about the earth-shattering ignorance and stupidity of Mike Pence. He has no grasp, whatsoever, of public policy issues. And yet I can only gather from the fact that his colleagues have elevated him to a leadership post, that a large faction of them are actually so much stupider than Pence that they don’t realize how dumb he is. But it’s really staggering. In my admittedly brief experience talking to him, his inability to grasp the basic contours of policy question was obvious and overwhelming.
Goodness! We feel positively faint after that. Didn't know Mr. Yglesias was on a liberal jihad to expose Mr. Pence's inadequacies; we'll just step away from the whole issue now.

Rather telling that The American Spectator thinks it must rehabilitate these two thinkers now. In a mere three or four mos. they'll have to have their hats in the ring. The very first A.S. commenter types:

"Pence and Santorum: Thought Leaders"
You're kiddin', right? This has to be a cruel joke. Are we THAT desperate? Must we grab at ANY debris floating down the river?
