It never snows in the Southland. Hasn't for 54 yrs., anyway, 'though there used to be snow about every decade before that. The storm of '62 also hit the S.F. Bay Area, where I was. Helluva surprise for the then eight-yr. old Bouffant to wake up on a Sunday morning & see snow on the ground. Made a snowperson, threw snowballs & everything.
Many pics of a snowy L.A. at the link, this is my favorite, from the 1921 storm. Doesn't appear La Brea continued north of Sunset then. A gas station now occupies where the two-story bldg. on the left is. Bldgs. on the right are the then-Chaplin Studios, which eventually became A&M Records & is now the Jim Henson Co.
Note also: Local avg. temperatures rising.
