Self-Absorbed Editor Reveals: I'm so "inner-directed", as they used to say, that I'm really doing it all for myself. Or posterity. But I'm also at the old person shouts at clouds & anything else that moves stage.
And a bit surprised that Crooks and Liars isn't more clicked. Unless it's just my stuff.
Well, good! As far as doing it for yourself goes. Us old guys yelling at clouds save quite a bit of stomach lining by so doing.
I wonder about C&L's traffic these days. I often say that I miss the glory days of the blogosphere. Social media is okay, and I get a lot of Substacks that I do enjoy, but ... it's not quite as good as it once was, to my taste.

I feel your pain.
But I would also say, you never know. Something you post could be the inspiration for someone who goes on to do something worthwhile.
So, keep doing what you do.
