Rock News & Views

Regular readers/viewers may have noticed our linking to coverage of LACMA's Rock. Neither for nor against, we are only amused. Someone thinks about it & types. (We couldn't be bothered.)

One question: Shouldn't they have started the trench a bit earlier?
Related, barely: Non-LACMA light standard display.

WTF? THey couldn't decide what style of light to put up, so put up *every* style of light? Indecisive lighting consultant? Not as random as the mating schmoos in the riverfront park, but still.

Local Color Editor:

It's the Bureau of St. Lighting's "museum room."

Another repository of street lights is in a nondescript strip mall a few blocks from the Bureau of Street Lighting, on Santa Monica Boulevard and Vermont Avenue. There the curious will find an exhibit of 25 historical lamps arranged by artist Sheila Klein.

Apparently the "arrangement" was putting the tallest ones in the middle.

Ah. I liked my theory better. It's sorta like my theory of deciding on ice cream flavors at the ice cream shop. Can't decide? Why, that means I must get *all* of them!
