Driving On Sunset

Cahuenga Blvd. to almost Queens Rd. in less than 11 mins., 1952-stylee. Could it be done today? The stretch between (4:21) & (7:35) was once described in an L.A. Times restaurant review as "the no-man's land between La Brea & Fairfax". This reporter lived half-a-block south (to the viewer's right) on Martel Ave. (5:32), 1974-1985. That Safeway was not there, & most of the car lots & gas stations in the film were history by 1973. Did see quite a few flicks at the Oriental in the next block, but it eventually was absorbed by the Guitar Center. Just past the Oriental is the Sunset Grill.

The colorization is interesting. Much more precise than that smeary crap Ted Turner gave us, but can't seem to keep the cars from shimmering.Audible audio.
