Sunday Substation
This was the excitement of a couple of wks. ago.
Still didn't fill the emptiness w/in. (As if anything ever could or will.) You see which of their products the importer wants you to think you need above on the box. This layout, however, needs high-voltage transmission towers (at least 35 bones for four) to complete the effect. It does look a bit naked w/o wires.Already have the fixins for chain link fence & plenty of power poles, & if I want more I won't be buying fancy-assed ones.
There was also this, which would've been less than half the price of the assembled item, & includes the chain link fence, but price or not, the base is about twice as large as the Woodland Scenics one & wouldn't fit the available corner space. A video review of this one said there were plenty of fiddly bits, & I know I couldn't do as nice a painting & weathering job as the Chinese wage-slave (probably female & young enough to be my granddaughter) who did the assembled one. Not to mention the control shack, which needn't even be used w/ the rest of it. So almost worth it.Then I found the small version, about half the size of the big'un, which I'm contemplating for the Coca-Cola plant or Camp Swampy. Cheap, too, maybe 20 bucks, & doesn't look like too many fiddly bits. This Yuletide self-giving is not easy.
