What is worse than the sad attempt to deny evolution ("No hands!!") that is Ass(ociation) Football? Not much.
Let's dig into exactly why it's so awful.
First, nationalism. A cancer on the planet. Leads to football wars.
Secondly, none of the nations best at it are exactly democracies; buncha fascist dictatorships (some of them temporarily hidden, but they'll be back) like Spain & Argentina, drugocracies like Colombia, or, at best, colonialist shitholes where a royal family still rules (Charles III). So it's bread & circuses all the way down: "Our country's a Nazi shithole, but at least we beat your Nazi shithole country in some stupid game."
Third, mind-numbingly dull & boring, interspersed w/ pathetic flopping & the like. If this is what most Earthlings consider the greatest sport, the planet & everything on it is truly screwed.
Hope ol' Generalissimo Franco is happy tonight.
