Republicans Are Bringing Back Their Plan to Gut Social Security and Medicare … Republicans have claimed over and over again that they are not trying to cut Social Security and Medicare.  Heck, Joe Biden got them to agree they would not make cuts to the programs in a memorable verbal maneuver during his State of the Union speech earlier this year. 

And yet, the Republican Study Committee (of which some three quarters [sic] of House Republicans are members of [sic]) just released its desired 2024 budget in which the party seeks to, you guessed it, cut Social Security and Medicare.

No threat to current recipients yet, but would it surprise anyone if the cult starts claiming inflation's over & benefits should be cut? 

Perhaps Republicans think there'll be an increase in ice floes for the wretched to float away on once the icecaps start melting.
