Never felt the need to reproduce after my own kind even if my own kind is just about the kind I can stand. Sometimes me and the spouse think about returning cheaply to his family's country and living in an Italian town with pretty much an average age somewhat older than our own--but the pressure for me to make use of my last dozen or so eggs is a problem (actually I'm a young 48--based on family history I still could drop a wee'yun for maybe another handful of years if I was really careless, which based on my own history, I wouldn't be), This planet doesn't need more people, it needs people who will do better regarding the resources this planet has, and that means education and conversation.
ReplyDeleteI'm a 71 year old white man and every day I wake up in a racist, white supremacist, militarized police state that is the most hated, evil and destructive country on the planet. This is America. I learned a long time go that the "American Dream" was a nightmare for most people and I knew I would never get married or have children. I believe that adults abuse children because they can so i believe all children are abused. All these abused children grow up to be adults that abuse children and so on and so on. Children are the only truly innocent humans on the planet. They are little empty happy vessels until adults begin pouring in all their shit, pain, anger and hate filling up those little heads until those little babies become scared and frightened little children. It never ends because most adults can't or won't look in the mirror and see the monsters that they have become.
