And earlier last night this reporter was on Melrose just a few blks. west of the murder scene, 'though he wasn't aware of it at the time.A man shot in the head and killed Saturday morning in East Hollywood was a Los Angeles resident, authorities said.
Roberto Hernandez was 53, coroner’s officials said. [Heard on the news he was the father of five. — M.B.]
Police responded at 12:20 a.m. to the 800 block of North Mariposa, just north of Melrose Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The victim now identified as Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.
A motive for the shooting was under investigation and a detailed description of the shooter was not available, police said.
